Picking up Wireless?

Well I'm going to Spain on the 28th for 6 weeks and will be taking my laptop.
Where I am staying they don't have wireless but I'm sure surrounding villas will have.
Is there any way to use the signal without needing a WEP key ect...?
If so, what software will I need?

Ok I downloaded that Tor and TorButton but using that I can't even connect to my own network without the WEP Key.

it worked for me on my old network but dont use it anymore... Let me do some more digging (sorry btw i thought it would have worked)

apart from that i dont know dude/dudette - when i took my craptop to france the wireless was free to connect to in the bars and hotels etc anyway?

this is why i have mac address filtering on my wireless network. no chance of hacking it then. i dont want some fecker looking at dodgy sites on my ip!

Can still be hacked. Give me half an hour and it'll be mine unless you've got a RADIUS server.

lol no i haven't the WLAN is only for my house it definitely doesn't warrant a RADIUS. I'd be interested to see you hack my WLAN in 30 minutes mate. I have a few friends who think they the mutts nuts in 'hacking' and so when i was setting up my network I automaticaly asked them what was the best defence so between us we introduced the mac filtering. Good luck to you if you can and i guess nothing is 100% secure as people are always looking for ways round things. I guess you could try spoofing my MAC address but youd have to obtain that information first and how easy would that be?

Packet sniffing would mean not very - I don't have to find your WLAN's SID, MAC reservations or WEP/WPA keys to track it's packets and every packet has the client MAC address on it.

At that point it's game over.
