30-70 mph in 3rd

Hi people,

Aplogies to those of you who don't like these type of threads but just wanted to compare my 30-70 mph in third time with other people's - it takes around 6.5 seconds!

Is that a standard car??? Sounds awfully quick that. Due to the fact that an M3 takes 4 seconds and thats through gears (2nd and 3rd)

It would be if the M was in second and rolling. Would obv be slower if it was in 3rd, but by how much.

I too think that sounds quick because 30 mph in a CS is not in the sweet spot in third gear.

I tried it on the way home, and from travelling at a steady 30mph, I floored it in 3rd and it took 9 secs to get to 70! Timed on a stopwatch too.
 
I haven't got a vid of mine in that range...try 4th gear 90-110 on a runway obviously. Mine has been a bit off of late but it was defo having a good day this time (and yes it was totally flat lol) Was with a low limiter so had to change to 5th early but even 5th pulled well!

lol I tried it again last night and it took 6.5 seconds - people who have been out in my car all say that it seems quicker than other 172s they been out in - I guess it could have been remapped??? I did a 30-100 (starting in 3rd on a private runway) and got 14s

Remapping makes almost no difference tho to performance. Nicer to drive but not really any quicker. Ill try it in mine with ITB's tonight :)
 
Your vid seems identical to my car. I reckon I was doing about 29 when I floored it though, and you seemed to be doing about 32-33 possibly. But mine was 9 secs dead pretty much, yours seems to be 8.5ish so seems to be reet.
 
Ah, i was just going on GDi's figures in the past...

Or is this the K-tec kit? Stock Cam?
