i got a 172 at 18 pay about 1700 but thats limited milage as only do very little as got company car

Maybe for a car worth it, like a car costing £100K. I'm sure there are lots of other people spending that kind of cash but it still doesn't make sense.
Do you pay way over the odds for other stuff, just so you have it?
Does that mean you have removed lots of options, like legal cover etc? If you have opted for the basic policy and you are still getting £2400, you must live in a high risk area or have endorsements on your license.

Have you got parents you can put on as 2nd drivers (non risk parents!, must have clean licence etc) My sister did this, she put me and my mum on as 2nd drivers and it went down by £300 to £480. The more low risk drivers she put on as second drivers, the more money came off for her. Anything to lessen the chance of the yung un being behind the wheel!

I got my 172 at 18. I helped re-fit the engine in it and did alot of work to it. I'm paying £2200 but it really doesn't bother me. I rarely drink and never touched a cigerette in my life. Instead of those extra outgoings I decided to put more money towards my hobbies (cars and computers)
I say go for it. Just becareful with it, last thing you want is a claim or any driving bans

fair play, i would of payed the 2k but not if it wasnt fully comp and the best a could get fully comp was 2700:dapprove: a was desperate for 1 this year too and saved up for months but in the end i decided if a just wait i can save up a little more and get a 197cup and decent insurance too.:approve: winner

same here mate i go out alot like but hardly ever drink dont smoke and all my money goes into my bike car and clothes

Thats weird, cheaper in garage usually! maybe if you buy it, then phone them to tell them you have a garage they will drop it again!
