RS TUNER

  Clio 172 sport
How long does it take to remap your car using RS Tuner...?

I just got it and don't know whether to attempt it after work or whether to wait for the weekend..

Doing santa pod on sunday, so will post my times up etc

Cheers

How many runs are you doing at the pod?

Why not do one run without the re-map, then another with the re-map? Be interesting to see the difference...

once mapping you need to drive the car a good 10 or so times for the ECU to "re-learn" what it's doing etc...I don't think running it straight after the map would be wise...

also it's bit of a battery drainer if you don't know what your doing. I'd sugest if it's your first time make a back up say tonight...then upload the new map tomorrow (using your car inbetween to give the battery bit of a break..)

I wanted to do it before i go because the ECU needs time to get used to it as mentioned above.

I could download it tonight - do a few runs at the pod then programme it back to the original after the first few runs, Then do a few more with the original ecu settings?

Im also going to take the spare wheel out and all of the back seats,

Can't wait to get the new map on as it just seems gutless on the low end.

^^^ thats the best bet mate!

It takes about 10mins to backup the ECU and another 10mins to remap it!

I just got mine today. First impressions are its a great bit of kit :D

Taken it out for a quick blast with the Live Data and Performance Analyzer but the roads are too busy to get a true reading at the moment so waiting till later ;)

I have diagnostic troubles which are O2 sensor front and Electronic Throttle Control limits acquired. Are there anything to worry about?

It would probably take 10 runs to to re-learn the old settings though. I wouldnt try it if i were you, just remap it a few days before pod to be safe, then u know the ECU has learnt all the knock values.

As said above it is a battery drainner so might be worth downloading the old ecu files to your laptop one night then uploading the new ones another. (although i did do it all in one go)

I dont think Pod is a very fair test tbh, has to be an RR really. Suppose 5 is an ok test though.

Great bit of kit tbh, not looked back since getting mine 8 months ago.

Did the rs tuner improve your times at the pod mate ?? what time did you run and what mods has your car got ??

  Dodgy one
Rather than worrying about the battery going flat, which if it does halfway through nackers the ECU, Just stick a battery charger on it. Thats what we do at work when doing ECU updates
