Dash Query

  Bumder With A Buffer
Possibly a really dumb ass question here (I am suffering severely from Jet-Lag at the mo!!)

The dashes on all recent Clios Mk3 onwards are interchangable?

I.e a dash from one 1.2 16v can be taken out and used on another 1.2 16v??

And from a 172 to another 172 etc etc

All the mileage etc displayed is done via the ECU correct?

Also are the same dashes used in say a 1.2 the same as the 1.4?

Dash wise, as long as it looks the same shape it will fit (be it from a sport or a 1.4 etc) as long as its the same MK it will work. however some dashes have a clock seection and some dont so look out for that. as for the clocks/milage im unsure matey

im 90% sure the mileage is done from the ECU so that shouldnt be of worry.

My main thing is wanting to know which dash fits what model. Im pretty sure a 172 is same as 182 and 1.2 same as 1.4 and 1.6 though i've never seen dash from a 1.6 :(

there all the same mate, just make sure its a dynamique if your going for the 1.2 , 1.4, 1.6 etc as the lesser models dont have dash clocks in the middle AFAIK!

The actual dials come as a complete unit and they keep the mileage iirc.
When i changed the engine on my car, the dials i changed to had a different mileage on(matched the engine).

Really?? Crap I thought that it was done from the ecu on the newer models :(

im sure they can be clocked though (easily) to show correct milage. why can't u just keep your dials mate?

Oh I can keep mine... im trying to find an easier way to do people's dash conversion's. So the idea was to get a 172 dash... convert it to whatever colour they wanted... send it to them, then they send me there's once they have fitted the converted one.

That way people wont have to be without there dash/drive 300 miles to me to get it done!

Nothings ever f**king easy is it???!!!!!! Grrrrrrr

ohhhh get ya!! you could always send a replacement dash and get them to cope with the wrong milage for a few weeks then swap back round
