Warped Brembo HC's - Replacements ?

Hey guys, my brembo's are warped badly using ds2500 pads, only been on the car a month but has done a trackday and gets driven hard, just wandering if im better off buying the groved version rather than another set of these ?

Cheers

Firstly, you must have done something wrong to warp disks in a month - cooled too fast etc, whatever disks you buy will do this.
I need some new discs soon (Got HC's now) and am thinking about going OE / aftermarket standard replacement or Max. This is a quote from the Brembo website:

"Brembo high carbon cast iron rotors better dampen vibration and noise to improve comfort and, ultimately, performance."

It does not mention improved braking / heat tolerance etc, are they really worth the extra money?
The grooved 'max' discs on the other hand are advertised by Brembo as being their 'performance' disc:

"This competitively priced entry level perfomance disc has a unique design which guarantees better performance thanks to the higher friction coefficient."

Obviously its all advertising at the end of the day and I'm not really sure you'll notice much differance in the Clio but i'd be inclined to either go OE for cheapness or Max if you can afford them.

yeah i dont remember doing that, tbh i didnt even notice until some people came over to me and id been sat there a few minute's there deffinetly warped though i think due to to the wheel wobble

LOL you must have been braking hard on track!!!

i've come across various people that love their brake pedal far too much and have warped, cracked, glazed everything under the sun

the 182 does have 1 major problem though, and thats the wheels, they're no good for track, they don't allow much airflow IMO

He has turinis fitted fred.

Ive warped a set of hc's before, possibly a bad batch though. Had max's after and lasted forever, much better braking performance too.

Get a set of max's from ebay mate, £90 posted.

Im going to run ds2500's on standard discs (car has recent replacement oe's, so a waste to change them already) so will let you know the differences fella!

HCs are fine with the right pad compound. We use HCs and Mintex F2 (I think) compound pads with wilwood calipers. I did 15 or so laps back to back at snetterton several times in a day and never had a trace of fade. That's using 182 wheels too ;)

Exactly what Im running at the moment, with goodridge lines. Will report back after Marham tomorrow.

Has anyone tried disks from nitrac (www.nitrac.co.uk)? Their disks are cryogenically frozen. I don't fully know the science behind but the disks are frozen for over 24hrs at -185 degrees C which supposidly produces a disk thats harder wearing and resists warping.

it alters the structure of the steel (lie heat treating, normalisation etc), but i stuggle to see the point of it as as soon as they get hot the structure will alter again anyway

anyone a metallurgist? its been a while since i studied it
