Roll Cage AND rear seats?

I'm looking for a roll cage at the moment but quite fancy being able to use the back seats occasionally.

I hear the SD cage from Mark Fish allows you to use the rears if you take out the cross member / harness bar. Has anyone actually tried this? From the photos it looks like it might limit back seat space quite a bit.

Photos of this set up would be most appreciated.

Mark has in his own car. You have to keep the standard seat belts, as you can't use harnesses with people in the back.

Give him a call, I'm sure he can explain.

Not intereted in show cages, utter waste of time.

I guess you mean Mark Fish? Got any photos?

Agree, show cages are W*NK

Theres another couple cage manufacturers out there worth a look

Is it really important to keep the back seats mate?

Yeah it is unfortunately, I'm sharing the car with my girlfriend at the moment and she'll veto a cage if we lose the rear seats.

Plus it is useful to be able to put people in the back occassionaly!

Yes, Mark Fish's own clio, has the cage and rear seats in.

I'll get some pics for you, tomorrow.

Steve

Mark has one fitted in his 172 with the full interior, no need for pictures, i have the safety devices cage, i have had it in the car with the full interior and 5 21year olds (for size refference) in the car.
so i can confirm 100% that it goes in with the interior and you can have 5 people in the car.

thanks for the info dave, very useful - I'd still like to see some photos though to help convince the girlfriend...

Cheers

That's actually not such a bad idea - could probably pay for the roll cage and a season on the track with the money I'd save as well ;)

Seriously though, someone must have pictures of the SD cage with the rear seats in??

I did say in my previous post that I would get some for you.

Possibly tomorrow.

It's a Safety Devices cage distributed by Mark Fish - around 700 plus fitting (1200 - 1300 fitted).

Still no photos :dapprove:
