Thanks Ben. I think so much of this tired car can do with replacing that I’m happy to throw track rod ends and inner tie rods and steering rack bushes at it, because it’s likely all very tired. But FFS, it would be nice to have it mot’d. I went to chat to another place today and they’ll do the work but they aren’t a Renault specialist. I wondered if anyone had a thought about what it was likely to be, and you did. Cheers.

Generally inner tierods do not fail unless hanging.

However, best off replacing as its got play. Do both sides - inners and outers, it will tighten the steering up a fair bit.
