New York - Feb 2009 (pic heavy)

It certainly deserves it.

Would you mind if I had it printed onto canvas?

Go for it, it's available at full-res on my Smugmug. Detail of the Empire State Building etc is a little lacking at full-res as it's a heck of a long way away at 10.5mm!

We're getting it done as well, might also have the square Statue of Liberty shot framed for the study as it's a bit different.

The first one with you looking straight up? That one and the sun/skyline ones are my 2 faves. Both awesome.

lol, thats fine. I have 1 NYC pic of the twin towers that ive had a long time. I need something else to go with it..

Are you going to buy another lens with the money from the fisheye?

No I'm happy with my set up now, don't feel the need for anything else (which is going to do my bank balance the world of good!), probably put it towards another trip somewhere so I can take more pics.

With the price rises I doubt it would buy me much now anyway!

Tempted to do the same with one of two from those that have been posted. Really wanted a decent print for the lounge in my apartment but don't want the ones you can get from Ikea etc that every fucker's got, lol.

theres only a few peoples threads I bother to look at in here anymore, yours in most certainly one of them. outstanding as always

Epic pics mate. Stunning.
What's your flickr username so I can look up the rest?
Oh, and how much are you considering selling the fish eye for? ;)

Although I've not put too many on there, everything I've sorted so far is here...

Haven't looked into the price of the Fisheye yet and things are all over the place with the price increases (another set of rises for Nikon on March 1st, it's already reached an RRP of £560 in the past few weeks!), so not sure what to do at the moment. Bit worried if I sell anything I may never be able to afford any new equipment at this rate!

Simply in awe of these photo's!

What lens did you use in the ESB observatory ones?

Sigma 50-150 2.8 EX. Blown away by the detail it was getting from that far away, especially as I was balancing it on a narrow strip of metal railing.

WOW, awesome pics matey! Did you say you have a site with the full res pics? would love a canvas print tbh

Yup, here: http://www.chrisharrison.smugmug.com/Travel/722314

Good job I'm not a businessman, I'd be screwed!

Thanks mate, added you as a contact.
I had no idea that fish eyes were that expensive?! If I were you I'd keep hold of it!

It's insane, I paid £300 for it just before Christmas (second-hand but mint), at that time RRP was about £400.

Think you're right though, probably worth keeping 'just in case'.

Can't decide if that's better or worse than my other half who would quite happily bankrupt the both of us to keep going back every few months! She's 27 and has been 6 times, ffs! I've now been 4 times with her since 2003.

Chicago is very photogenic so you should do well. My Bro-in-laws went in October and came back with loads of fantastic shots on their Panasonic TZ7s.

Make sure you visit the Chicago Bean, the photos of that are trippy and very very cool.

Have you had any formal photography training or are you completely self taught?

Pics are amazing :D
