ECU REMAP 197

  Clio 182
GUYS WHO DO YOU SPEAK TO INORDER TO GET THE REMAP DONE BY RENAULT! I HAVE READ ON HERE A FEW TIMES THAT RENAULT CAN REMAP A 197 TO IMPROVE START UP PREFORMANCE????

I SPOKE TO SOME DOUGNUT IN THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHAT A REMAP WAS? I WANT TO KEEP MY WARRENTY FOR THE REMAINING YEAR, AFTER THAT I AM GOING TO LOOK AT GETTING A REAL PREFORMANCE BOOSTING REMAP? WHATS PEOPLES THOUGHTS ON DECLARING A REMAP TO INSURANCE? ANYONE HAD TO MAKE A CLAIM WITH ONE?

turn the caps lock off chap ;)

always declare mods its not worth the risk mate

i expect they havent heard of it because its not classed as a remap, its classed as a software update, go back and ask that

or try a different dealer lol

Its just a software update, doesn't really effect performance, makes the car more usable so no need to tell those mugs at direct line or whoever..

Does it give the car a bit more grunt lower down?

Any change to power or torque figures?

iv heared that the reason they are like they are when cold is to stop people thrashing them from cold
which imo is a very good idea as i hate it when people hammer their cars from cold, they dont realise the damage it does

No it isn't. On the 1*2's it was to help give lower emissions under testing. If it was to stop thrashing, Renault wouldn't be offering a fix:S

I vowed not to modify it, but it did seem to lack low down grunt on the test drive, so I'll go see Paul @ RST
