1.2 16v Issue, HELP AN ADMIN IN NEED.

Ok, i have a broken 1.2 16v.

Changed the coilpack, checked the connections at the top of the engine and one of the 2 big connections at the top (the one with the bizzare, pointless looking metal cage around it) is full of water.

Im assuming a seal has perished.

So...

The connector and the connection are both corroded, they really need to be replaced. Any ideas on part numbers or suggested fixes?

Cheers

Tom.

Errr if it's the pointless looking cage thing that can be pulled off thats full of water, is that not something important?

That's the FBW mech. Not the ECU.

It's in the cage to stop tampering.

Pricey!

It is the ECU, the FBW is under the inlet manifold (strange i know)

The metal box covers the ecu multiplug, the metal vibrates over time and cuts through the wires, you need to replace the engine loom unless you can repair the damaged section of the loom, they can also let water in which corrodes the connectors!

To remove the box, there is a metal wheel on the back of it with slots in, use a needle to spin the wheel about 20 times (its a screw mech)

Then the box will pull free

Nooo, i don't mean that. There's a metal box that covers all the FBW gubbins at the back of the engine. I assumed he meant that?

Yeah, with the little, fiddly c*nt of a wheel! lol

My ECU on my 1.2 was in the usual place! :S ie. 1*2 location.

Maybe Ph2's are different?
