1.4 Major vibrations on startup

Basically today I started up the car and the whole thing was shaking wildly, and no amount of revving did anything. I put it into first and drove it for about 200m then it gradually stopped.

I then stopped at the shops and when I started it again it was fine. Parked it at work for 8 hours or so then when I started it this evening the same thing happened.

Any ideas?

i had exactly the same mate, ive been assured its a bad mix of supermarket petrol and a cold engine, im not convinced tho lol

Yeh sounds like misfiring...

Could be coilpack or maybe dodgy spark plugs?

The plugs are only a year old, is this about right for their lifespan? Are coil packs expensive?

Check the ignition coils first I'd say then plugs.

Lifespan of plugs is a lot longer than a year but only if the car is driven right. Plugs can become useless after a few months if the car is only used for short journeys.
