Velcro'd on plates

Got a 3/4 plate coming for the front of the car, but want to velcro it on so I can swap it round easily enough to the standard plate.

Will normal stuff still work, sticky stuff on each side?

Sure I've seen some people on here with them?

go to halfords and buy a pack of velcro heavy duty sticky coins

they are around 3.50 for a set of 4 so will sort you out for the front and back, the velcro is very strong, holds summut like 2kg's iirc

ive been using them for a few years and they are really good

you can see one side of the coins here:

they also keep the paintwork nice and clean as sticky pads proper fook it up

Yellow & black pack from b&q, get the strip one, where you cut off what you want.

Nice one, thanks.

Hopefully get the plates on Friday, just need to get the private plate swapped over now!

Appreciate the help :D
I love your car Makavelli!

Just got my new plates on this week. Went from the horrible double-sided pads to those velcro coins as above.

I have 6 on each plate! :o

these actually hold up at high speeds, all weathers etc? getting some new plates and dont wanna screw them on. will also make it easier for cleaning purposes.

Without being all serious! Isn't a plate supposed to take a certain amount of time to be removed by law? To help towards plates being stolen?

Just something I heard a while ago, may be bullshizzle!

Edit;

After googling it, it seems someone has tried filling me with bull....

Just held on with sticky tape for now although getting some velcro tonite from b and q to sort it properly.

sure the pressed plates didnt survive the police stops tho.......

Certainly did..... Since fitting I've had no problems at all anywhere..... Road Side Stops, MOT the works.... Never a mention :)

how much was the pressed rear? if it passes MOT and is police stop legal, sounds tempting. have you got front too?

cheers. i want the correct sized (for the front bumper) front plate. im sure they only do standard sizes on there tho yeah

When you say correct size? Do you mean normal ones?? Or do you mean one to fit in the recess??

You can get LEGAL pressed plates from them but they are £29.99 a set and you have to send all your documents off.

http://www.dubmeister.co.uk/

click on UK LEGAL plates on the left hand side, then click "buy direct from this site"

There a palce you can get custom pressed plates from if you wanted a smaller one although I cant remember the name of it.

I just got the normal one from fancy plates, well the one to fit in the recess anyway. And am going to get a pressed rear one from dubmesiter.

By the way that should be £29.99 a set not each as I put :o
