Driveshaft problems....

Had a knocking noise, replaced o/s driveshaft.

Fine for one day.

Had knocking noise from tother side, again replaced. Fine for 2 minutes, then started knocking again.....

Its a 2001 ph-2 172 and we have used Brand new (ish) 182 driveshafts.

Can anyone shed any light?? Got a track day friday so need to sort asafp!!

i'm pretty sure the 182 driveshafts are slightly longer than 172 ones = bad

well it could be! i know definitely a phs 1 172 drivers side shaft is a fair bit shorter than a 182 equivalent

Will ph-1 172 shafts fit a phase 2 172? I have a spare set of them somewhere....

Not really. I know a guy that makes custom ones for big power cars/lorries but I doubt he could make any by 7am friday morning! lol.

They did a good job but had to keep them a bit longer as they said they were "unique".

The really annoying thing is, both the cars were 100% last week. We ran them for a couple of days this week to just double check everything and things have literally just started dropping off! Induction kit fell off mine tonight.

i know this is and old thread but im sure its got all of the relevent answers, no point starting a new thread. am i right in thinking my 182 (with cup packs) is classed as 182 (cup chassis) and therefore part no 8200372167 for a ns driveshaft?
im looking for a new driveshaft and struggling to find somewhere that fills me with confidence that they are supplying the right one. and i dont want to be paying £200+ from renault tbh.

is there obvious about the 182 cup pack driveshaft so that i know its the right one or can anyone recommend anywhere to get one?
