my service booklet lists cambelt and aux belt both at 2 years 60000km???

  172 ph1
I've got a 172 from 3/2000 with 252000km.

The garage that serviced it for the previous owner told me the last cambelt change was done at 212000km, 22/3/2007, I assume the aux belt was done at the same time.

The service booklet in the car lists 2 years, 60000km for both cambelt and aux belt... but I remember seeing 5 years, 120000km for the cambelt? I'm rather confused... do early cars need more frequent cambelt changes?

The owners manual for a Ph2 in Mexico says 63,000km or 4 years. Is there any significant difference between a Ph1 and Ph2 engine?

only difference between ph1 and ph2 is one of the idler pulleys. Not significant, and no difference in schedules.

I guess the temperature in Mexico may be why the times you have are shorter.
Belgium I would be surprised if it's different to the UK, in which case £120k or 5 years would be correct for the cambelt
