Took a deposit on my 106 Quiksilver today. So hopefully within a month I should be the new proud owner of a 172 cup

Pending a half decent insurance quote of course, only being 19!

Anyway, there is a point to this thread...

Are the cup's dearer to insure than the boggo 172, being the lightweight 'sportier' version?

Yep. I had a a 172 cup and a 172 and had both up for sale. A lad of about 20 wanted to buy the cup but his insurance company refused to insure it. He ended up having to buy the normal one.

Greenlight have a list of cars they wont touch. The 172 cup (quote none abs version) is one of them, and they are a performance car specialist!

fromthe quicksilver you willnotice a big gain in a 106gti in the clio it willbe a littlebit more than the gti just a bit plasticky

Thats the thing. A gti is an identical car apart from the power difference.

Dont know if I can live with the 106 interior much longer!

the gti are a lot better than a QS

i had a QS and a nana gti for a while OMG, the differences were amazing

the QS has the 1.1 cassis remember too

id defo go for a blast a gti before u step upto a 172

but its upto you
