New Car Again

  VW Caddy Van
Grew bored of the Blue ST and went on the hunt for a Mondeo ST220

After looking for a few i found one. Then was busy for a few days. By the time came i could phone about it it had sold and the guy had traded this in for it. Seen it on Pistonheads fell in love with it and had to have it

It's basically the car i was searching for when looking for an ST. And finally found one

It's an ST500 with stage 2 Mountune.

RR'd by the previous owner at 188bhp with 214nm Torque

  you may know it, clio?
Think it looks mint bud, good buy.

Although i think the bonnet stickers should come off.

I wasn't sure on the bonnet sticker myself but then seeing it in the flesh it looks better. One of the parts of the car i like

  Black 197
I suppose the stickers add that different touch to it, Bit like the R27 stickers i dont like them but others do.. chalk and cheese i suppose

Car looks very nice though

  Turbos.
Looks like a decent car, but agree with the sticker comments. Not a major fan of gloss black wheels or mudflaps either.

Whys it called an ST500 then, did they make 500?

  VW Caddy Van
No difference to the normal ST bar 500 of these were made hence ST500

It came from the factory with the black wheels silver decals mines were changed by the previous owner to what u see full heated leather and the red calipers as standard

Stickers staying though for now. Got other focuses first ;)

Looks pretty tidy. Like the stickers on the side but not sure about the one on the bonnet
.

I saw one of these the other day, I didn't realise they made an ST500 in the fiesta too, I thought he'd gone out and nicked the badge from a forcus ST500

I agree about the sticker removal. I'd take the mountune one off too.

I'm not a fan of the styling at all - flaps, stickers, wheels and not keen on the front and rear lights. Prefer the pre-facelift ST I think.

Sure it'll go well though, not sure about 'destroying' 182s with 8bhp more but will probably have the edge.

Dunno never went up against a 182 etc but from owning a 182 i'd say it feels alot quicker than the 182 ever did. Most 182's RR at about 164 or so and this ones RR'd at 188 atw

I love it though just as it is, if i remove the bonnet decal it takes away the uniqueness that comes with the 500. The cars standard from the factory as it stands bar the lowered suspension mud flaps and the graphics are replicated standard ones in a fade effect

I wasn't sure on the bonnet in pictures but when i seen it in the flesh i decided it's staying

  Mini Cooper S sport
Looks a bit fussy with all the extra bits, but then I drive a yellow car with stickers all over it so what do I know!?

Only thing I'd really change would be the bonnet one - and I like the black wheels.

  R27, Deep Black
Nice motor! I test drove one when they first came out as i was considering one, but being a total Renault fanboy i had to buy the R27 instead :)

  VW Caddy Van
I'd have loved an R27 or a 200 but am a Ford man at heart and i know i'd never have been happy

  VRS
looks like a nice motor, stickers make it more individual :D

power wise i take it this should be on par with 182's?

did you mean it was rr'd at 188 atf not atw? as the mountune stage 2 is a 185 atf kit?!

  Titanium 182
I hated the standard ST, this would be the only one I would consider. Standard one felt so underpowered.

  VW Caddy Van
Mountune kit makes it so worthwhile

Wanted the mountune kit on the blue on but refused to pay the price. So i chose the sensible option and let someone else pay it haha

RR Printout doesn't list atw or atf i just assumed atw if i'm wrong i do apologise am new to all this sorta stuff as tuning wasn't really an interest till the blue ST

  VW Caddy Van
Ford restricted the ST's to bring them down the insurance groups to make them more appealing to younger drivers. Being a group 13e it's in the reach of most 18 - 19 year olds
