How to turn off starter button?

I know i just feel inferior in my ph1 which doesnt have something simular

Reading through this thread, the fuel idea def wouldnt work, it primes which would stop from starting, and as soon as you go to fire it up, the pump will run killing it again.

Best signals i can think of would be the alternator output (on the dash this controls the battery light), or the low voltage side of ignition coil - possibly, not sure how they work if its a constant live and a signal feed of when to spark.

Oil pressure light also could do the job

IF using the warning lights route, youd just need to be careful on the relay, would need to pull a very low current for the relay.

Also....are dash light leds or bulbs? 12v?

As above use the alternator output. This is the wire that you conect the likes of the Cobra intelli-start system to so the alarm doesn't try to energize the starter motor when the engine is running. Normally the wire coming off the Clio alternator is pulled to ground when the engine is running providing a ground for a relay.

OR..... Take a feed off the brake pedal switch, Foot brake on, then hit the button.

Put a seperate switch in somewhere so you have to actually press 2 buttons but your mates think you press 1...

brake pedal isnt really any good, if your driving, brake to slow down your mate can still press the button to try and run the starter motor


you need someone with wiring diagrams, or a haynes, find the wire for the batterylight,

Another good suggestion, but wont help with jump/push starts (in that unlikely event)
