MOT Parking brake efficiency

Evening all,

I had an mot done the other day on the trophy and failed due to the following;

3.7.A.7a - Offside rear parking brake recording little or no effort
3.7.A.9/10 - Parking brake efficiency below requirements

Does this have any relation to the newsletter VOSA put out about the 172 cup? I mean I tested the handbrake and it holds (although it has about 7 clicks!).

park brake is purely mechanical in operation - that is lever-cable-lever-cam-piston

foot brake is hydraulic operation

172 rear brakes was to do with the load sensor being disconnected and giving low effort

To the op, if you take off the cowling around the handbrake lever you can adjust the cable.

Only on the early PH1's can you do this. All other's require removing the centre heatsheild.
