The best driving game of all time. **Contains Memories**

Good Shouts on Road Rash2, F1 64 on the N64, Ridge Racer Super Monaco GP. :)

How can anyone forget Virtua Racing ;)

I preferred (and still have on the PC) Aryton Sennas Super Monaco GP :)

Micro machines!
Never had as much fun on a game since playing 4 player on this back in the day

can't really go wrong with SuperSprint, but was also thinking of GT2 - it was just bigger and better than GT1. shame they didn't carry the Grindelwald (sp?) circuit onto the later games, as it was an ace track - sort of a shortened Nurburgring

^^Destruction Derby Ruled!!

i also used to love top gear rally on the N64.

i dont think there were any racing games i can remember on my Spectrum or my Amiga!?

mainly puzzle based games.

Micro Machines and Destruction Derby! How could I forget those??!!

^^Many a day was spent stoned off my tits playing that when I was at school :)

Days of Thunder on the spectrum!!!!

Also remember a Motorcross type game on the spectrum but can't find out what it was called :(

Also there was a game in the arcades where you would go around a track that was a figure of 8. You could pick up nitro and stuff and I think they were 4x4's or something?? What was that called??

Destruction derby on PS1 was awesome! I think they re-released it on PS store on PS3. I had micro machines on Mega Drive which was also awesome.

They should defo do another Road Rash on xbox, even if its just an XBLA game. I can only imagine what they could do with it these days. Would defo buy!

Some classics in this thread!

Anyone remember Turbo Esprit on the Spectrum. Was apparently a major influence behind the Grand Theft Auto series.

Geoff Crammonds games are still legendary. I miss having a game like the F1GP series, nothing today compares for me somehow in terms of gameplay. Seems silly to compare with something amazing like Forza, but they just had something. I've still got GP4 installed on my laptop for the odd blast. Keyboard controls FTW!

I loved Turbo Esprit, lost many hours to that game :D

Esprit Turbo Challenge was good, I completed that and they sent me a certificate. Most odd.

For me:

Vigilante 8 (on PS1- although I now have it on N64)

Felony 11-79 (which I didnt own but played round a friend's house)

^^I had a Motocross type game on my Spectrum back in the day - it was called Enduro Racer.............same one you are thinking of mate?

I've never been into PC gaming, but the best driving game i've ever played on has to be Grand Prix Legends made in 97/98 for the PC.

Never played on a driving game since that can compare to this in terms of realism.

I had this on the Commodore C64 as well.

I was well into GP2 back in the day too. Had the updated circuits and carsets that people made on the net lol

DESTRUCTION DERBY 2!!!

Also had a lot of lover for v-rally on the PS1

And NFSU 1&2 and midnight club 2.

And Midtown Madness... epic!

micro machines was another good un.

For me, Powerdrome on the Amiga was one of my faves....

TOCA was brilliant (at the time) and as others - far ahead of its rivals. Grand Prix 2 on the PC was sorted as well.

Gran Turismo 1 was much better than GT2, imo.

edit - how the hell did I forget Stunt Car Racer as well?! :S Another Geoff Crammond classic....

D.

+1 Stunt car racer FTW...

TOCA 2 was awesome. I had it for the PC, and used a steering wheel. I always used to f**k up the first corner going down hill on Brands Hatch though. Always forgot to go wide enough to avoid the dip.

Toca 2 is a good shout, that game was made of all kinds of awesome!

GT4 is a good one too, many of hours got dedicated to that game

F-Zero was my first racing game too come to think of it
