Knocking from the Drivers rear! Help please

Noticed a knocking from the passenger rear the other day which hasnt gone away

initially thought it was a loose wheel, so removed/refitted/tightened but to no avail

next though it was a blown shock. only replaced both rears 2k ago and its not showing any of the symptoms it did when it went before

also checked the exhaust to see if that was knocking on anything, again no obvious problem!

rear pads look low, but doubt they'd knock

last thing i guess it could be is a kanckered wheel bearing, but no idea what that would sound like?

On a side note, i do find the front is starting to feel a little loose. where are the bushes on the front end and how could i tell if theyre dead?

take the wheel off and then the bearing cover cap in centre of disk. have a look if theres a circlip in there. if not then the bearing can move inside the disk and cause rubbing on the caliper carrier, wheel arch liner etc.

if the circlip is still in place, put the wheel backon tighten the bolts and with the car on axle stands take the handbrake off and try wobbleing the wheel try with your hands at 12 and 6 oclock and at 9and3 oclock there shouldnt be any play in them. also spin the wheel and listen for a grinding dry noise.

Is it lowered with non standard exhaust?

When I bought my car 6 months ago the exhaust was knocking the rear swinging arm (lowered on H&R's with a GDI Exhaust). but when I raised the car to take a look, I didn't think it was anywhere near it as obviously the arm lowers as the car is raised.

Only realised was the exhaust when I went to prospeed for a new one and they pointed it out.

only on prolines, so doubt it could be that tbh. would have done it longer term if it was.

its now become more apparent and is definitely at the back on the drivers side, and especially when braking. so i'm now thinking either stikcing calliper, knackered pads/discs or bearing.

just need to get on and buy and fit replacement parts
