BTW, my connection is at about 56k atm so it took exactly 2 hours and 41 mins to fully load this page :)

FLOL at the 56k comment!

Great read, great pics, i'm not a fan of threads full of just pics, (unless its in the munson's definition of pics) nice to see someone giving a decent account of whats going on.

Looks like an amazing trip, my friends and i are planning to do the same next year but in three hot hatches, with 6 of us i hope. Your pics have definately inspired me and made me think its worth doing.

Car looks cracking on those wheels too!

Amazing trip by the look of it. Nice touch with the ring web cam photos too!

Would love to do this one day, but will have to wait for the kids to grow up a bit. Hearing "are we nearly there yet" for hours and hours and hours would take some of the enjoyment out of it.

cracking write up there my friend, well done, looks like you had a good trip. Great photo's. gonna try and rope my mrs's into this trip soon!

A bit out of context here, but im going to 'go outdoors' this week to pick up a tent, your looks like what ive been looking at. what tent is that and how much was it, spacious enough for two of you and all your gear, comfortable, didnt leak? etc, feel free to drop me a pm.

 My absolute pleasure. I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed the museum. Ace isn't it.

Some great pics there and the views at Lauterbrunnen look ace. Fancy waking up to that.:approve:
I wish there were more tunnels over here.

How did you manage to do the 'ring cam thing?

Martin.

did you get a guide book (other than the camper one) to give ideas of where you wanted to go at all?

Such an amazing place - we only had about 4 and a haf hours there which wasnt nearly enough.

The ring cam is available here - just pick the date you were there and cycle through the times.

Other than the alan rogers campsite guides we had a rough guide to the italian lakes but i didnt look at that at all. We just sort of knew where we wanted to head really.

I'd been to quite a few of the places we vistied as a kid about 14 years ago with my family so they seemed like cool places to go back to.

Lol I agree about the woman at the campsite office. I am sure she could speak English but just pretended not to so that she could get some extra cash! We got charged for the last day when we left at 9am :)

Yeh shes blatently putting things up your bottom sideways. I dont think there is another campsite in all of Europe that charges per day rather than per night.

Its like going to a hotel and them charging you for how many windows there are in the room.

She needs a f**king shave too.

Hahaa!

I had a good chat with all those guys, particularly the dude with the williams.

The guy in the RS2 was nuts, he came back with his brakes billowing smoke.

They were on the same campsite as us too!

Small world indeed.

But this is THE campest pic ever ;)

LOL yeh i had no idea it would come out quite so 'brokeback' when i took it.

And for whoever it was that asked the major planning happened pretty much 2 days before. Obviously some stuff was sorted beforehand like buying all the guff for the trip and getting a swiss vignette tax sticker from the office in london, but we didnt have a proper route worked out until about 48hrs before we got on the ferry.

Bumpity Bump

Epic Epic Epic, planning to do something similar this year with the Mrs, just wondering, what wheels you have on the PH1, they are awesome, or if anyone could tell me?

Anyone planning something similar this summer?

Lukas
