gearbox will be fine as will clutch if its fairly new mate.

Im having DTH TB's the week after too. Greenlight are good aslong as you dont go above 10% of the orignal power i think, all you will pay is a £25 admin fee.
Im looking at 421 cams as recommended by Andy and Sean with a custom map too, oh an if your cam belt needs doing soon have them done at the same time as it will save you a penny or two.
Im not too sure but you could have some thing done with the bottom end, gas flowed, but your looking at silly money. Could get collies and have some cosmetical work done if you need it.
As with gearbox or clutch, if its not broke dont fix it.
tbh....a cambelt kit should be catered for in the cost of having the cams fitted. no one worth taking the car to for mods would fit cams without renewing the belts anyway.

Before you start i didnt say ktec would not change my belt for cams like you are insinuating.
I simply mean that if you are having the CAMBELT replaced you could save a bit and have the CAMS done at the same time thus you not having to have two new cam belts within its life time.

I dont want to strip the car, I enjoy the comforts that come with it to be honest.
Clutch & Gearbox are on 76k and I do have *some* issues with it not fully engaging 1st gear now and then, nothing big, just dip clutch again and select gear, go.
Just wondering if I should prepare for them going? I hear they are notoriously weak but Ive personally had no real issues.
Cambelt was done in 2008 so I'll hold off on that for now
Custom map I'm contemplating while its there, not sure how much of a difference it will make over a generic one ...

Also, coilovers are on the cards, but my daily drive is 2 straight roads and 3 roundabouts - 6 days a week so brakes may be next up, I guess the OEM ones will be "ok" for the 200bhp mark?

As most people are saying, decent pads (Ferodo ds25000's), Decent discs (brembo Max or HC's) and braided hoses (goodridge) is a good combination for just fast road driving and going to work.
Tyres will make a massive difference too. Exaltos are really the best of the best but you allready have new tyres to no point changing them.
OH and how are your engine mounts? upgrading them is really a good thing to do. Mine were fu*ked on 72k miles

im not insinuating anything.
just that the cambelt should be done as a matter of course when the cams are installed. and not an additional cost no matter where the work gets done.
and every car should have MORE than 2 cambelts in its lifetime.
mine has had quite a few over the 8 years iv had it. but then its only a 40 min job so no biggy.

To be fair my car always drove faultlessly well on ITB's and returned decent MPG too, it's only the charger that had lots of issues.

But any muppet can come on this forum and say they are better at mapping or some one is better than who ever, just a pity that you had the one bad map who ever done your car out of the 100's they do most proberbly.
Personally Andy is bob on, top lad with more experience than some on here and really knows what he is doing.

OEM brakes are fine for the 280-300bhp mark as long as you don't drive like a complete bell. Uprated brakes would make a big difference though, especially on track.
Just to add, my car was also mapped by the same person and I can't fault it. It runs fine flat out or when pootling around normally. It idles OK, it starts every time, it picks up well in every gear and it doesn't even use much fuel unless I'm constantly on the boost (when I'd expect it to use a lot anyway). I don't know for sure if a different mapper could eek a bit more power out of it or make it any better to drive around town, but frankly I don't care. It suits me just fine and I don't feel it'd be worth paying to get it mapped elsewhere to find out.
Personally, I think you just had a bad experience for whatever reason. I don't want to argue about the reasons for the SC'd Clio not running well or get into a debate about who's the best at mapping. I've read the other topics where this has happened and they go completely against my experiences, hence this post.
If we're ever in the same neck of the woods you're more than welcome to see how the car runs for yourself.

Oggy i feel your pain i do.
But my work place has also tried the trick of saying my day off is canceled and that they need me in for work.
Ive told them in advance that i will be poorly sick and may need next thursday and friday off.
Im F'ing going even if it kills some one.
