It'll fall on deaf ears mate. They'll all refuse to acknowledge that a Renault can possibly be quicker than a Porsche / Maserati.
People assume it's the badge that makes a car go faster. If that's the case then why aren't all the Renault tuners selling Bugatti badges?

BUT because you said its 0- whatever mph... thats MY point!

Down low you are using your better power to weight ratio.

Sit at 100mph next to the Maserati and then start the race. The results will be different.

And thats the race you said you had with the Porsche....

Its getting boring now. Think we should leave it as we also probably have different definitions of 'leaving it for dead' ;)

Damn, thats where i've gone wrong! ;)

No doubt its fast, but then again in reality you've probably spend a fair whack on it...And you have to acknowledge that it's now a highly stressed motor.
Lots of pace, same car...a niche market come resale, potential reliability issues...this is why people buy stock cars, premium marques...

That said, mines std and it brakes every 5mins...Fcukin Germans!

Well I certainly don't! and I don't think anyone else on this thread does.

I would imagine the supercharged Renault would be right on the ass of my Ferrari upto 110-120mph. Maybe even faster!

But above that I would be faster. Not because of the Badge... but because I have more power.

I wouldn't leave it for dead though ;)

How much did you pay for your Ferrari? my car cost 4 grand plus 4 grand for the sc and if i was on your ass upto 120 it will be worth every penny.Dont get me wrong i would love to own a Ferrari but i dont ,the point being you can have a very fast car for the fraction of the cost.And if i did have a Ferrari and a bloody clio was on my ass at 120 i would be a bit p***ed off!!!!!!

I'm reckonin that not many ferrari owners would bother with that a wee clio is doing baiting them!....

i passed a r8 last month and the guy wasnt pleased lol but admited i beat him so fair play to him,his car did look the part :cool:
you tried your little beast up against anything else mate:)

I paid over £100k for my Ferrari. why does that matter?

and if a Clio was on my ass at 120mph I would think 'wicked! thats one quick clio! what a cool little car!'

Then I would get back to enjoying my Ferrari which I am totally in love with still. (only had it since March)

Why would I be pissed off? Does the fact that you have a fast Clio make my Ferrari any less amazing to drive?

My point is that a lot of the time on this forum, people will refuse to acknowledge that a Clio CAN be quicker, at least in a straight line, than cars which cost maybe ten to twenty times as much. I'm not saying that's you in particular, but if you read through some old turbo'd / supercharged Clio threads you'll see what I mean.
I've seen the video of the SC'd Clio racing the Maserati. I've chased down various Porsches and even a Ferrari 355 in my 172 turbo and kept right behind or passed all of them. Obviously the speeds vary along with the conditions of the drive, but the fact of the matter is that most people won't believe the Clio is quicker until they've experienced it for themselves.

430 would be my first choice in that line up every day of the week, absolutely loved it when I had my day in one. Especially directly after driving the GTR. So much feel through the wheel and fantastic with the gated box

I'm not jealous, much :(

People moan about the RS driving position quite alot...But the 430 seats are pasch, they sit way to high up! I like the ones in the SC, but lol...they cost an extra 70k. (Car comes free tho!)

I have the Electric Daytona seats and you are absolutely right. They sit too high.

The sports seats are much better. Very rare to find one with them though. I looked for ages for spec I wanted with them. They were I think a £15,000 option when new and not that many went for it! Most people opted for the Daytona upgrade.

Thankfully I am only 5'8 and so its not a major issue. I would like them to be lower though.

Im not saying you will be pissed off but i would be after spending 100k (if i had that much) on a Ferrari only to have a clio keep up with it.My point is i have a car i can use on the road,track that can keep up with some very expensive cars, ya granted its not a Ferrari but people will be talking about the clio that keeps up with one!!!!!!

I understand that SC clios can be fast, But most people that buy a ferrari, buy a ferrari for the experiance and not the fact its fast in a straight line.
I can imagine there is so much more that comes with owning a ferrari, i bet when you were younger you dreamed of supercars, maybe you even had posters of certain supercars.....not a poster of a SC clio.

Its really not had to understand, if i had a ferrari of similar and a clio tried to race me, my first thought would not be OMG what a waste of money. It would be thats a pretty quick clio.
Then i would cruise along thinking i know which car id rather own.

It's exactly that ^ 'Cool' Very cool. It's not a super car though, and personally if I were super rich enough to own a F430Scuzz, I'd probably own a pocket rocket at the same time!

I like sheer speed as well. I'd like to see a Supercharged Clio keep up with me in this ;)
