Is this a major stuctural part to the car?

I took this out whilst tidying the interior and, this may be a stupid question but....

Is this part needed for the structure / rigidity of the car?

I have seen a few track cars with it removed but wanted to be sure?

Looks like the bracket to hold the dash?

Provides some strength against side impacts

I'd personally put that back in, but it's up to you, as said, mainly side on impacts.

I mean a cage that goes right up to the door pillar now and across to the other, maybe even attach to the turrets. Lol no need for a dash dodger with no dash

S'only for the dash, the bulkhead is one of the strongest points on the car, that bracket wont do anything in a side impact collision
