  Renault Clio 2.0 16v
Just bought a 2002 Clio 172 in Metallic blue, Reg HB02 XBX from BVB garage in Burton on Trent....anyone know it?

It's fantastic if a bit thirsty but that's to be expected.

Every so offen I hear a small tapping when I go around a corner in it, my friend says its the exhaust clamps...one is slightly loose and you can easily tighten them up for free?

There is also a small electronic noise/hum that you can hear from the dash when you turn the car on..is that just french electronics?

I'll get some pictures up soon.

Hi, I just saw your comments and had to respond. I recently bought a car from BVB and I still regret it.. please please check that your car has not been an insurance write off it will show on the advert as 'Insurance Category D or C' maybe in the last 3 lines of the advert? I didn't know what this meant. Just to be on the safe side get the car checked out if it's making funny noises. BVB is well known to Trading Standards.

Hi,I too purchased a car from these guys.Turns out a great little motor and to be fair they do actually advertise the Category D/C fact and dont hide it like most car dealers do!Mine was real value, probs about £1k cheaper than most 197 Sports so I cant complain at all.

My mate bought one earlier last year from them(Fiesta) and he too loves his car.No frills,no sales bull just value I suppose.BTW Im selling mine soon I want a FOCUS RS!!??Anyone help?

I see. What car was it? What experience did you have there? Did you deal with a guy called Jed? My car has been ok really *touch wood* but I think I went out and bought it too quickly.
Cheers for feedback

I bought a Focus ST from Jed at BVB last August. Upon getting it home we found out that it was a CAT C and so took it to our garage to be checked out. Turns out it had not been repaired correctly and ended up cost us £2k to get it straight. I tried to return it and get mine back but he said no. Watch out as he left me do a bank transfer in his office to pay. Luckily i had to do it from 2 accounts and 1 of the banks rejected the transfer for secuirty so he didn't get paid in full. Then last night we had a call from guy who wanted to buy it and said he had set off but broken down could we meet half way. When we turned up suprise suprise it was Jed. I knew him straight away and told him no deal he said it wasn't him but i had saved his mobile number in my phone so when i asked him his mobile number it was his. My husband told him to get out of the car and no deal. His scam was either to pay in dodgy notes or buy the car back for a knock down price as he knew it was now mint. Don't trust him and tell everyone you know not to buy from him. His web site is just a front as he works from a small unit from an inducstrial estate with hardly any cars there.

I suppose there are always problems with cars but if I were you I would be very very careful saying someone is buying a car with fake money!

I very much doubt that is the case and car dealers do buy cars to make money/profit you know.

Mine was ok,yours not. I would still advise not making unjust comments like that.

Just got my FOCUS RS too yesterday!!!....My mate sold his car he bought from them and actually made some money too so alls good for him and me.

Back on point. Dont worry about the dash-top hum, it's something to do with air-con or something, if you do a search on here (right-hand side of the blue bar under the picture_ you'll find plenty of info on this common query.

As for the knocking, it's just frenchness. If you tried to get rid of every knock, tinkle, thump at rattle that these things throw up, you'd never take it on the road! :)
For instance, from nowhere, i've now got a creak coming from somewhere which wasn't there last week. The week before that I had to shuffle the exhaust mount to stop it rubbing when there's people in the back.
