FML wheel nuts too tight

Im trying to get my wheel off to fit some spacers
But the nuts are just on too tight, and i dont have a long bare or pole to help me get them off
Any suggestions apart from taking it to a garage and handing my head in shame?
 
Theres plenty of things you can use for a 'longer pole'.

Put the wheel brace on, then extend it using the handle from your trolley jack.

Go down the road and find some scaffolding.

I use an old piece of table. Sounds bizzare but I found it in the garage and its perfect! Been using it years.

Go out and buy a decent one then fit the spacers. I have had a tesco one for years, its and extendable bar with a reversible 19mm/17mm socket on. Does the job great and cheap.

As Dr Roll says, may sound silly

Left - loose (anti-clockwise)

Right - tight (clockwise).
 
One the + side i was turning it the right way

take it to somewhere where theyve got an air gun, if you was in the midlands id do it for you mate, your not the first to have over tightend wheel nuts
 
You need a bigger bar. Air gun will have no chance if jumping on a breaker bar isn't shifting them.
 
As Jamie says, a buzz gun will do f**k all.

Are you using the tools that came with the car? They are shite
 
Go to wilkinsons and buy a breaker bar. £4.

There is no way its as hard as you're making it out to be.
 
Who's this Jamie character you speak of Danny? ;)

Halfords, biggest breaker bar they've got, 19mm impact socket, and throw all your weight on it. Obviously while the car is still on the deck.

i'm going to disagree.....my impact gun undoes driveshaft nuts without blinking, and they're 280Nm. Wheel bolts would have snapped long before getting that tight
 
^ What gun you using? We've got a Snap On item at work and it's pretty fecking powerful tbf but I've still seen myself having to use a breaker bar to undo some wheel nuts.
 
I had the exact same problem on my saxo, wheel nuts had rusted and been overtightened. Couldn't shift them after bending the wheel wrench nor with an extender bar... One embarrassed garage trip later and they'd been buzzed off with the gun

same, my 18V snap on jobbie has failed on some!
 
i always use a scaffold pole for stuff like this

you get that much leverage you can do it with one hand
 
Buy some plus gas spray wheel nuts thouroughly have a bru and wait say half an hour use a good quality wrench/breaker bar then get yourself a good heavy lump hammer and tw*t the wrench to break the nuts free from the rust this should then make it easier to undo said wheel nuts with a good scaffold bar/table leg placed over the handle of the wrench, bit of elbow grease, job done.
