*n0rfbest go to Cymru! Evo/Llangollen Ponderosa April run, Sat 9th April*

I think next time I'll bring some PMR radios so that the convoy can stay in communication. I have a set of 4 so could spread between lead car back runner and one other.
That would be awesome!
Us lot in chester were talking about getting some radios so we can close off the lake Vrnwy circuit.

Pmr radios are fairly cheap and dont need a licence. It's best to shop around though and buy the most powerful ones as the less powerful ones have a fairly limited range. They are much better now than a few years ago. As for using them to close roads off I really don't think that's legal. You need special permission to close a public road and only the police are allowed to do it. I know whem car rallies are run on closed public roads it all has to be applied for in advance and all sorts of legal stuff is involved. PMR radios can be listened in to on radio scanners and also monitored so any mention of closing roads over a PMR radio could land people in very hot water if it got back to the local police. All radio broadcasts are monitored by the DTI.

Top days gents. Really enjoyabe bit of asphalt bashing. :)

Seconded, really good run out-just a pity about the traffic but unavoidable on a day like today.

Mark, didnt see where you went at the end-was going to follow you back.

Aucky which way did you go?

At least the traffic gave us time to chillax a bit in between blasts.

Given your 'mobile rear end' i think you'd benefit from a bit more traffic P@blo! :D

5mm pe2s all round on too-must've been diesel on the road. Whereabouts was that valley stretch? :)

Didnt get a shot next to yours, will have to stick the red rims back on for the next meet.

'Diesel on the road'. Wheeling out that old chestnut?! ;)

Next meet for the pics i reckon.

P@blo, I peeled off and went over llandegla on my own, was a pretty good run! Although I saw the red RS250 and the blue 200 on thge way home so its obviously not quicker.. Nice run though with no convoy restrictions

Was an awesome day out....usual n0rfbest meet tbh...banter, cars and food. Was the 1st time out with other cars since my new exhaust so was please how mine was running. Paul (Golf GTi) passes on his regards. It was his 1st blast out in the GTI and he loved it!

Cheers for organising it Naith and all involved

Chris

Spot on Riad. Bob them up on MS will you? Any chance of Hi Res ones of mine?

Lol at the dust. :D

I really enjoyed the run. Sorry about the dust on the back roads! They're a lot more fun that sticking to main roads all day ! If any of you get up to Cumbria at all I recommend driving up to Penrith and taking in the A686 over Hartside Pass and going across to Northumberland then back down through the North Lakes. Its a fairly long drive but the roads are awesome.

I went back over Llandegla. Caught up to the red megane at llandegla crossroads but he got head start on me as lights changed. Eventually overtook him and three other cars between Leeswood and penyffordd station.

Ah that was you. Yeah i was just chilling and letting the car have a break on the way back, hence why i made no attempt to overtake anything (not even the 118d with 2 bikes on the roof!) :)
