[PC/XB360/PS3] Shift 2 : Unleashed

I wanted to get it, but I have the new IL-2 on order which is out on Thursday, and Steam doesn't let you cancel pre-orders :(

ditto, the car physics have been sh*te, sort this out and then I'll be interested.

The reviews have said it's really improved upon that. Should be alright, as yes, Shift was dire.

Funny thing is. I did some reading up on it, as I bought Shift, allbeit for the bargain price of £8.

According to a number of people of various forums, the handling and physics are actually really realistic, and it is down to the over sensitivity of the Xbox 360 controller that causes the car to end up sideways going 160Mph down a straight.

Yeah right..

If they have improved upon that, then this is definitely on the "To buy" list!
 
Think im going to get it - i quite enjoyed the first one - makes a change from the serious sim racing in GT5,which i got bored of in the end,there was just no drama or action in the races - i want some proper racing with damage etc.

I wish codemasters would pull their finger out and make Grid 2!
 
looking forward to getting this now,reviews are slowly coming in - solid 8's & 9's everywhere,some negatives are loose handling again,but i dont really care as long as its fun to play..

my PSN is nebraska55 - ive heard the autolog is a good feature for comparing times/records etc.
 
Been playing this today (PC with Logitech G25). Pretty enjoyable actually. The other drivers could be a bit more of a challenge but still enjoyable when you do get the odd AI driver that takes a bit to pass.

The big downside would be the lack of feel in the car. You can't really get an idea of when your close to over or understeer and even when you are understeering it just doesn't feel noticeable. I also don't like the view inside the car where it turns your head into the corner and blurs like a motherbitch when driving fast. I would recommend avoiding that view like aids. Other than that it's really good to see the amount of tracks and cars available compared to the original.
 
I didnt believe it was possible, but I actually think they have made the handling worse.
Again, outside of the car view, you still go sideways when you even touch the joystick.

Waste of money IMO. Want to trade it in after playing it for 35 mins... Very disappointed.
 
I was big fan of the first one and I love the second one awesome going to take some time to finish this one
 
Look good should have bought this instead of tiger woods today. May have to buy it next week if more of the reviews say it's good

Got this for the 360 Bookend and it's not bad at all. I've nothing to compare it to mind on the console as I haven't even had it a day. But that point above is justified - I could do with seeing if you can turn it off? It really is off-putting through a quick chicane section where your centre of vision appears to lurch from one direction to another - making you over-compensate into the corner. Proof that this is a definite issue for me is that I perform much better in racing from external view rather than in-car. And for me, that's normally the opposite.

I like the upgrade paths too and so far, they seem quite sensible. I've got a Focus ST at the minute with around 280bhp, but I've woefully under-estimated the need to back that up with some decent suspension, tyres and braking. As such, it's completely outclassed on circuits with sharp corners and bends.

The opposing AI seems a good balance between being a challenge and also making some mistakes. Managed to under-take a TTRS on the 2nd-to-last corner after the AI overshot a corner. :)

I'd say 8/10 from me so far. Wouldn't mind trying it on the PC with the G25 though!

The view before it is the normal cockpit view...the one youre describing where you see through the drivers eyes and head turns is called the helemt cam. I cant used to it either...

Im enjoying the game so far - some really good racing to be had with the AI and i love the Autolog feature. The handling took a bit to get used to - it feels so 'floaty' compared to GT5 - but ive got to say as a racer,its more fun to play.
 
how are people getting on with this. Somebody owes me some money and im tempted to tell the to just buy me this

is it worth getting? ive seen so many mixed reviews
 
try and have a go before buying, handling is questionable lol game looks very pretty in graphics etc but randomly snaking down a straight at 150 isnt where its at
 
I've got this now and must say I love it. The drifting was a bit hard to get on with at the start and the rear end of rwd was very floaty but all in all a good game

already 48% complete some how :s
