Yeah Lakeside has pretty much been shut down, but there is a UKFN meet there this saturday, so there might be some other cars down there aswell. MOst of my mates that normally go to Lakeside have started going to excel instead but like JRS182 said, the police were all over it :dapprove:

kinda sucks that the police have closed the roundabouts at lakeside,
and theyre having a large clam down at excel, but i heard that was only for the previous two weekends so i have no idea where ill be heading this saturday,
but no doubt ill start at lakeside tesco and find somewhere to go from there!!

Looks like my intel was correct, though there were a few police down there, they didn't stick around and it became very busy with a lot of fun to be had!! I was parked on the bottom roundabout by the last set of traffic lights if anyone saw me!!

Not really more to the fact that once one person knows try tell another etc then you end up with loads of people and it gets ruined I.e like excel,

Lol! I was parked at KFC car park bit....2 coppers come up to me and ask me if where im from, my name, if the cars mine and if its insured. So i told him everything he wanted to know. He then asks to see some ID so i showed him my drivers licence. He then turns around and says my picture doesnt look nothing like me :S (It was taken when i was about 15/16 years old and it was the only passport size photo i could find to send off when i was 17 lol). Anyway. He then says his going to check my insurance, so he 1st asks who im insured with and whos on the policy, so i told him. He went away then comes back and then radios over and the man on the otherside of the radio says that im not insured for my car and that my dads the only driver on the policy! I was like WTF! Im the policy holder! He also said that its only insured with aviva. Im not even insured with that company so i dont know where they got aviva from LOL!
Anyway after all that he then turns round and says to me that he believes that im insured on the car regardless of what their system has told him and that he wants me to get right out of the area as ive just been checked in the area as an uninsured car. At the time i was like 's**t' but as i drove off i thought to myself...Wow! Cannot believe they had the cheek to tell me all that bull when i know 100% im insured on my car, just to get me out of the area!
Anyway after all that he then turns round and says to me that he believes that im insured on the car regardless of what their system has told him and that he wants me to get right out of the area as ive just been checked in the area as an uninsured car. At the time i was like 's**t' but as i drove off i thought to myself...Wow! Cannot believe they had the cheek to tell me all that bull when i know 100% im insured on my car, just to get me out of the area!

Well i think you had a better night than me!! haha
i was dirving down the a13 when all of a sudden i had a bike infront and behind me!! when i got to a set of lights one leaned over and said "follow me" so i did, and was escorted for around 10 minutes to the large office building just after the excel area. To which i was greated by a sea of police units including a tea van and a lot of other cars being inspected and a car transporter loaded with cars!!
I had all my details taken, checked and my car inspected!! to which they turned around and said that my horn did not work, theyre issueing a prohibition notice and they were going to take the car off me!! which was a abit of a shock. I managed the arrange my own recovery which they begrudgingly agreed to and signed some paperwork making an exception!! Latched my car up to my mates german smogbox and he towed me home!!
was with them for around 2 hours and have ended up with them serving a PG9 on my car, which basically revokes my MOT and means i need to sort out getting a new one!
ohwell, all in a day out!! a bit annoying since i hadnt really done anything wrong, other than something so petty as a non-functioning horn!
in the end i managed to arrange my own recovery which was

so they are cracking down again then. was they going over the car big time then? and am i right in thinking that because your horn didnt work they was going to confiscate the car? (if you didnt get your mate i guess they would have?)

yes they were looking all over the car, if they found any illegal modifications, or found a reason to deem the car unroad worthy, they were taking cars,
we were told they they had already taken 2 car transporters full before we got there, and another loaded up and left while we were there!!
this was the rough set up!!
tbh, if any of you guys were there they wouldnt have bothered looking at the car! but because mine was "heavily modified"
and all they could find was the horn!!
tbh, i felt like saying to them, towing me on a 6 foot tow rope down 20 odd miles of national speed limit roads, when i can see nothing but tow cars bumper is aparently "safer" than driving without a horn!!
but as long as im legal i guess thats all that matters!!

not good man. a broken horn?! and that requires towing? why bother with the paperwork for that!
is yours decatted? out of interest how would this work if youve insured it? although its illegal, youve insured it therefore you are legal? bit of a grey area.
