Clicking when turning the wheel and airbag light coming on and off..what have I done?

I just fitted my ph1 stalk. YAY finally have a working horn again.

But now every time I turn the wheel more than 90 degrees, there's a click coming from behind the wheel as if it is catching on something and the airbag light will come on and off when it pleases.

Did you swap over the little indicator canceller prongs? I swapped mine and forgot to do this and it would always click and mess up the indicators.

Ive written a guide here including pictures, the bit you need is towards the end where im swapping the cancelling bits over as one is longer than the other which will cause the clicking.

Will that cause clicking when turning though?

I hope I don't have to take it all apart again. It was a c**t to put back together.

I think so because the ph1 ones are too long you need the short ones out of your ph2 stalk iirc.

The light might be a poor connection on the resistor.

Thats what was causing mine, have you tried indicating and noticed the stalk feels different or is cancelling itself all the time as that was also happening to mine. Its because the PH1 stalk has a longer cancelling prong to the PH2 stalks so it will cancel wrong and click all the time.

It was a right b*****d for me too as id put it all back together before checking and then found out it clicked and messed up!

It actually feels nice to push up and down

But it doesn't self cancel. That will be the problem. b****cks. I'll be out tomorrow evening doing it now

Yep its the white prong then, only a 10 minute job really once the stalk is out, 2 screws on each and then swap the inside spring & prong over.

Turns out I had pulled part of the airbag wiring and plastic unit out and I couldn't get the c**t in.....so I cut it out and threw it in the bin
