Pipercross Air Filter - Race v Road?

i've got a phase 1 airbox with the race filter but I dont fancy having to clean it every month. i wondered how much the race filter differed from road, or even oem paper filter. any noticeable change in performance?

i wouldn't expect to see much difference between filters, but i recently put my standard airbox back on with an aftermarket panel filter and it feels strangled at higher revs.

You don't have to clean it every month mate, most likely just at normal service intervals.

The race filter needs lightly misting with dust rentention spray at least every 1000 miles and cleaning every 12000 miles iirc

For ITG filters yes, Pipercross do their own one.

Once a year would be fine for cleaning, though id use (and do use) a standard filter element personally.

the distributor for pipercross says the race filter needs oiling every 500 miles, and it should not be used on the road
