De cat question

I'm putting my full stainless k-tec system on this weekend and it includes a decat pipe. My friends decat-ed his and he's got a engine management light come up on the dash he just lives with it but when I do mine I don't want the light on.

How do you stop this happening?

Get a cheap code reader and just delete the code when it comes up,not all cars bring the light on anyway so you might be lucky.

Or what I have is a spacer between the sensor and pipe which also stops the light coming on.

ive got a 2005 182 and had it decat for a while and no light came on, took it off now tho very very annoying lol

Personally, I would just put a spacer in there. That way the light WILL NOT come on and saves you crawling back under to fit a spacer if the light does come on

Wait and see if the light comes on. Mine only came on after taking the car on track. So basically only after giving it some stick. Its just random luck if it comes on or not. But its easily cleared by a code reader.

mine never came up for at least 700 miles but unfortunely is still on lol

Thanks guys no light as yet apart from air bag light as I've changed my seats. . I know how to sort that though.

had mine fitted around 3 months, approx 4000 miles. never had a light show up

unless you want a really annoying light and to play around with the lambo i wouldnt bother! each to their own though !

yeah but it seeems like the only way to sort my low cat is to just get rid of it lol

if you can afford it maybe look at getting a sports cat. pass the MOT
