I'd have parked in the parent and child space in the first place, there's more room there so it would have avoided the incident.........

If there's loads of disabled spaces left I go in one of those, if all of a sudden the disabled society of cardiff decides to go shopping at that tesco i'll gladly get out and park it somewhere else. Failing that i'll go to the far end of the car park and take up two spaces, same rules apply.

This happaned to my in my old 172.

Was in the pub carpark next to my mates garage when some guy rocks up in a mondeo and smacks his door into my car. I went over and had a look, called him back and said he's got three options, £50 to get a dent man, his insurance details, or the police. Sounds drastic but I wasn't having some guy dent my car. He took the £50 option, took photos of his car next to mine and the damage before he scooted off to a cash point. May of had something to with my mate stood outside the garage with a breaker bar looking at him whilst I was talking to him . If he'd off gone out without caring I wouldn't of touched his car, as that makes you worse than him. It's life, there are people that don't give a hoot.

He actually came back, gave me £50 and said if I'm going in the pub after working on my mates mini he'll buy me a pint.

You'd be suprised that some people will actually be ok about it. Either that or I was just lucky.

its not the end of the world if someone pays up, but on top of that i just find it a massive inconvenience to have to repair the damage. its all well and good someone saying oh yeah ill pay to repair it but ffs it shouldnt need repairing. its not hard to get out of a car. i wasnt fussed in my previous car but now im vary aware of what sort of cars i park by and avoid car parks like the plague

This sort of thing boils my piss!

The other day in Tesco, I was sitting in my Clio and I heard a thud on my left hand side. I looked and could not believe what I saw!

I got out the car, and there was this f*cking assh*le PULLING HIS SHOPPING TROLLEY BETWEEN THE GAP of his car and mine! and it CLEARLY didnt fit! I was shocked! So I said "wtf are you doing are you serious!?!?!" and he said "what!?" So I come back with "you just hit my car with the trolley! are you seriously trying this!?"

He said "I'm not an idiot, I didnt hit your car!"

So I go "I heard it! The trolley won't fit, so you clearly are f*cking stupid!"

I looked at my car, couldnt see damage, he then apologised! So I watched him load his shopping and f*ck off out of my face! Prick!

On another occasion, some a'hole hit my car, same sort of scenario. I was not in the mood! I said "wtf you doing" and they didnt give a flying f*ck!!!! I was fuming! So I waited till they walked away, opened my passenger door whilst I was sitting in the driver seat, and leant over and kicked it, HARD, in to their driver door! OMFG left a huge dent!

THEN I drove away. Inconsiderate B*STARDS!

Would of wound the window down and stopped him from opening his door, while proceeding to tell him to move his f**king car far enough away so he can get out his car, then when he got out of the car i would have got his details.

the incident i had was stupid. classic situation of going to get in your car as someone next to you is getting out, so i waved him out and waited by the back of my car....bang.
so he saw me, saw i said for him to go first, smiled. then belted his door into my car. massive c**t.

i can see why women do it though. i hate it when my misses gets in and out of my car, she has no control over the door at all. on several occasions nearly hitting a car or letting the wind nearly snap the cunting door off. FFS HOLD THE DOOR

i cant believe in this day and age people are so f**king thick that they cannot even get out of a car without bashing the car next to them if you are that crap, then find another space away from others

I can almost guarantee that all the people saying they would of got out and smashed their faces in would have done exactly the same as the op... f**k all.

If it was me I'd first explain to them what they had done and depending on their response taken their money/taken their insurance details/ smash their face in ;)

What do you do?

I've just been to McDonalds, and whilst i was sat munching a delicious McChicken sandwich, this old codger pulls up next to me.
He then reverses and pulls abit closer.
Our lass said to me "No door left for you then.."
And with that, the absolute moron opens his door into my passenger side; chipping paint off the bump strip.
He looked into my car with his mahooosive jam jar glasses and then proceeds to try and get out the car again, and again the idiot smacks my door.
And just to take the piss, he more or less falls out the third time, mutters something and then strolls into Maccies like he's just won a free meal.

Now, if you were in my position, what would you do?
Bearing in mind, he was about 75, and looked pissed.
If he was younger, i'd have probably got out and given him some shoe pie, but i thought i'd give him a heart attack if i said something.
What a clayton!

I was waiting for him to come out so i could say something, but i had to be back. ¬¬

Regardless of age, or anything like that. People can't be that stupid, I'd have smashed my heel into every panel and door on his car, then walked off.

Nothing pisses me off more than people who can't respect other peoples cars. There's an absolute r****d who works at my place who parks his shi*ty Honda 4x4 next to my 197 every morning... regardless of where I park.

Hate people who do this, was parked in a hospital carpark the one day waiting to pick someone up, seat leon parks up next to me. Woman gets out, slams her door into my passenger side, I tell her about the damage before she tries to walk off and she just shrugs and says nothing. Cue her going into the hospital and me booting off her mirror. Wouldnt have been too bothered if she has said sorry or anything but the sheer cheek of her wound me up so much.

id of had a mature conversation (based purely on the fact he was an old fella) and got it sorted out either a few quid for a touch up or insurance. if it was only minor then a simple apology would of done in all honesty

Good job, can't park a car anywhere these days without some inconsiderate arse doing damage too it.

Our's has a shared car park with Tesco's so I park as far away from the entrance as possible, the lazy f**kers park nowhere near you.

Same applies for ASDA or anywhere else really, id have asked for some money to get the damage repaired - if he got arsey and refused id then be asking for insurance details.

The only good thing about my other half being officially disabled now (Blue Badge) is the epic parking spaces. Gotta love the sideways clearance, w*****s like the ones described in this thread couldn't touch the car if they tried!

Some right bullshitters on here. "I would have smashed his car up, I would have keyed his car, I would have chinned him". Yeah ok.

I chased someone who hit my car. No damage. I just wanted to make him aware and that he couldn't just drive off.

But then I did back down and apologise to someone the other day. He was clearly in the wrong and I shouted. Then he got angry and he was f**king huge so I pretended I was apologising to him instead of shouting

As a matter of fact, the same thing happened to me a year or so back. I got out as he was walking towards the entrance of the supermarket, asked for him to come back. He didnt care. Yelled HEY YOU, he turned around, walked next to me as i was pointing at the spot where he damaged my door. As i stood up, he grabbed me by my coat and threatened to punch me in the face. Then i pussied out, walked away and carried on with my life :(

Not sure what I'd do in this situation tbh. Probably depend on how big he was I guess. I'd certainly confront someone who had just dinged my car but I don't fancy getting a hiding over it. I strongly suspect the police wouldn't be interested and not sure you'd get much joy out of insurance either.

Eating your nuggets in the foetal position, just rocking backwards and forwards. Not even dipping them in ketchup, purely because you're too scared of the nasty old man.
