Spark plugs.

Put some Bosch Iridiums in as could get them cheap. Been told to change to NGK though. Reasons? They didn't say why! Car still runs fine .... Jon

Just tried a search and couldn't really get an answer :S people just say they're using NGKs, but no reason why other spark plugs would cause problems. Easily confused Jon

They'll fail really quickly.

The F4R only likes OE NGK plugs.

Ah ok, so the engine will just eat the plugs, the plugs aren't going to cause any lasting damage til they start failing though? Jon

compatability isn't to do with the engine. That's not actually possible. It's down to plug resistances and loads put on the coil being incorrect. NGK plugs are consistently reliable with the correct resistance.

PFR6E-10 are the OE plugs. These are exactly the same spec as BCPR6ES but using a platinum tip which is generally used for cars with a catalyst. You'll often see these 2 plugs used in the same application where there is cross over year between a non cat and cat equiped version
