Rich Idle with Omex 600 + ITBs

I fitted my Jenvey bodies a month or two ago and it ran really rough - the balance was miles out and the TPS raw values were wrong etc.. etc..

It did however register around 14 on the wideband on idle

I've now set the idle screw, balanced the bodies, and configured the TPS raw values on the omex - it idles smooth as silk at 950rpm. It's not popping and banging at all anymore and generally sounds spot on

Only weird thing is it's registering 10.2 on the wideband on idle which is quite rich
As soon as you put even a little tiny bit of throttle on it goes to 14 but on idle it's rich

Is there a fuel trim setting or something that I can alter. Or is this a cold start fuel enrichment or something?
I've let it run for 30 mins and I can't test if the fan cuts in because it only ever gets up to about half on the temperature scale (I assume a combination of freezing cold garage and the engine running rich)

Or... is this something I shouldn't care about as long as it idles and runs spot on?

My only concern is I'm getting an exhaust made up with a sports cat in and don't want the cat dying due to the wrong AFR

thats possibly a little low, when idling what is the spark total? you should be able to open the throttle a bit more and the ECU will r****d the ignition to stop the revs rising. just dont let spark total go negative or you'll overheat in traffic

LEGEND

They were actually showing about 4.5 on the synchrometer so tweaked them open to 6.0
Set the TPS raw values again
Also tweaked the target idle rpm

Ran it up and it ticks over nicely when cold, when warm it's showing 14.0 on the wideband
Sounds smooth as silk

Spark total was showing 15 or something - it's now showing -2.5%
I hope that's ok

But the best news is now after 20minutes ticking over in the garage it actually got up to 91c - the fan cut in and the temp dropped back down to 89c and the fan cut out - so I now know my fan works and is wired correctly :D

Thanks again for the help

No worries :) Idle spark is a touch too far retarded but it'll be ok until you get a warm day. I usually aim for around +3-5deg. That's close enough for now though until you get it mapped. Do you have the lambda sensor active?

No I don't mate

The guy I bought the ECU/Loom from had it all mapped without a Lambda - I found the lambda plug hidden away
I've got an innovate wideband running and the 2nd feed from that is doing nothing so I was thinking about feeding that into the Omex but not sure how
And I'm not sure then how much work it will need to set the Omex up to use a lambda

I've got to do a cambelt and dephaser in the next 3-4 months and I'm really tempted to get some cams to make the best of the ITB's so I'm trying to save the remap cost until after the cams have gone in lol ;)

I'd suggest just using narrowband and plugging into the existing loom. the 600 can technically run wideband, but it's not a simple case of ticking boxes.
The plug on your loom should be a 3 pin, get an NGK sensor for a mk1 clio 1.8 16v and it should plug straight in. If you can email me the calibration I'll see if it's active/setup ready to go for you.

Oh wow - someone did mention a mk1 clio lambda but I didn't know the plug/connector was the same as on the omex loom

Thanks mate I'll order one now - and i'll email you over the map.
Owe you a beer! :D

Haven't been able to get the map off my shitty old windows laptop yet as it won't connect to my wifi LOL
I'll stick it on a USB pen tonight and email it to you

I had a look through the OX FB settings though and none of them have been set to zero as it says in the omex manual to disable o2 feedback
They're all slightly different to default settings too so it looks like the map actually was done to support a lambda regardless of what the previous owners of the omex/ITB's think LOL
