Airbag light/sensor

Recently fitted an oreca wheel and adapter, and of course theres no airbag fitted, meaning that ive had to leave the airbag sensor/actuater connection unplugged which has caused the airbag warning and service lights to come on. Not a problem during the day but at night its rather distracting, and ive got my MOT coming up in april and i presume this will be a fail.

Does anyone know of anything that can be plugged into this to basically tell it theres nothing wrong and turn the light out? Or alternatively if it can be 're-wired' to get the same result?

I've got the exact same problem and ive put a resistor in the airbag plug but I've still got the lights on the dash pita.

Resistors are the cheapest option but we do de-configure them via CLIP but theres a charge of £20 to do so.

Just be safe when fitting resistors and disconnect the battery. Loads of people don't and get away with it but one guy on here recently tried and found himself getting a small electric shock and found a little smoke coming out of the connector afterwards. This would be due to the main SRS computer which detected his dicking around and so fired the airbag circuit on that particular trigger line which ruins the computer so no amount of resistors will turn the light off!

Ph1 172 is different unfortunately. Is the the OMP boss you have fitted?

You literally do the same but only one plug on a ph1, think the plug is orange from memory.

What's the deal with the SPS when this is done Mick? Surely the lack of rotation due to the airbag wiring just sitting in the boss will flash up an error anyway? Or are they fixed and rotate as normal?

Yeah the one for the airbag is orange. I've put a resistor that came with my OMP boss in the plug but I've still got the lights.

wiggle it round abit and try again? lol. as my resistor that came with an omp boss worked straight away. Sure its not a lose connection under the seat?

if those fail, i have no idea. but i have no airbags in my car and no lights on all fitted with 3.6ohm resistors.

someone commented in my progress thread saying this, but he used a 10ohm resistor so i guessed that caused the shock.

Might fiddle about with the wires under the seat. The lights are doing my head in and they have only been on for a day haha.

Had mine on for months, £1 of resistors from maplins and they're gone!

once the light is triggered, will it turn off when the resistors are fitted ? i know it 'learns' and resets with the seat belts but if lit after removing airbag will the light go out and learn with the resistors ?

Mine turned off after being on. Some do, some dont from what ive heard/read.

If they do they can be turned off/reset somehow i think.

Mine turned off as well.
Sometimes flicks back on/off guessing because of a dodgy connection on the resistors.

I bent over the end of the wire on the resistors so it was slightly thicker and they held in really nicely, then taped them down.

Stopped them flicking on and off, as tbh that was more annoying than them being on constant!
