f**k knows. I'm still trying to think of a reason.

I'm a kipper iirc.

Kev I still think this is a bad plan for you. You have twisties to play with. If you were in my position, i.e. the only driving you do is a straight, 10 mile journey there and back on a Sunday, the TT/S3 is a good choice. Much quicker than the POOMAH and very comfy.

But I don't take my S3 out when I'm back oop North for the fun of it. It is quicker than a Clio point to point, granted, and the 4x4 leaves anything else behind in the rain and snow (it's the UK, that's a valid plus point). But it wouldn't track it, I don't feel exhilarated/close to the road like I did with my Clio. Someone put it perfectly in the GTR vs M3 thread; you can gun a Clio and still not be in danger of killing yourself/losing your license and get a thrill. With the Audis, you have to be going very fast to feel exhilarated.

Get a TT.

I've had two, and I like my cars.

Or listen to the opinion of people how have only owned Clio's.....

Fenn even if it's one with a decent engine? :(

JD, you've described something the Frp has never really done. It's epic mate in the right hands. Those hands aren't mine. The guy with the Carrera cup car took the Frp out on the new tyres. I've never seen a car covering ground so quickly with so little hassle. It's spectacular... it's wasted a little in my hands.

Some people might assume I want something I don't. The same reason as they told JD an S3 was a bad buy. It was what he needed, what he wanted.

It doesn't have to be forever! I have no ties on any of my cars, no loans, finance etc. I can chop and change as I wish. I might totally regret it.

Stunning example mate, credit to you!

Good luck finding a TT..

Just a question, but would keeping the FRP, buying the TT and then selling the FRP after a week or two once you knew for sure you liked the TT not be an option?

I can just see you selling the FRP, getting a TT and then a week later feeling like an idiot and practically begging for your old car back.

Nice car, what's the retail on one of those?

Affordable.

Cheers mate. Yeah i'll fall asleep. What's the difference between 30mph in the Frp and 30mph in the TT, Bose on and heated seats.

Looks so well kept! You'll have no problem selling it tbh.

Although...Only TT worth having IMO .

They are special. Engine won engine of the year last year iirc in Evo.

I hope you're right about selling! I doubt it myself.

Lols no. The money from the Frp will part fund the TT pretty much. I don't need debt to get a decent car. Hence no Mini GP.

Sensible option, just didn't know your financial situation so thought it may have been an option.

Obviously not a high roller like me, I've still got my clio sat on the drive LOL!

Lols I could actually go buy a TT with our house deposit and store the Frp away. Then I'd realise i'm not 20 anymore and pumping your missus whilst your mum and dad is in the next room isn't cool.

Nice house > Fancy car. ;)

I'd love to store it away. Me and my dad will get a Mk2 Fiesta once the Stag is out the garage.

Haven't you already moved out??? Or is that renting rather than purchased then?

We rent our place just now. We're in no rush to buy. We want a few more k in the bank to get somewhere we want.

We're not interested in buying somewhere we won't be happy just because it's in budget. We have the option to buy the place we're in which is good.

Fancy car finance = less holidays and champagne for us!

Brilliant i love this spot on. Role on 30 living with your mum and being single, yeah but i have a boss car innit though.

Nothing wrong with wanting to move with the times, not everyone wants to be stuck in the year 2000.

I think the TT is good move for you personally not sure why but i think it will fit in with your lifestyle, Champagne, Hair dye.... :p

FRP does look great dont get me wrong its nice to move on sometimes.

Thanks Jay. No reason not to have a nice car and a nice house but my bones can't take pumping in a car anymore, no matter how fancy it is.

Nice TT in Manchester. Really wanting a Red one now.

If you're serious, I don't mind viewing it for you if it's over my way.

I still think you're a pellet for doing this though. Poor Poomah.

This weekend? I'm in Manchester both days but Sunday would be best.

Text me. It's still a bad idea though.

I've not even seen it and it's sh*t. I'll just send him pictures of it with print-outs of his car held out in front of every one.

Lols! No i'll be in touch mate. Just emailing the guy back and forth. It's the right spec and rare. No rush though. Need to get my car up first!

Thanks though.

That looks f**king mint. A proper credit to you Kev. (Well it shows you're a proper anal b*****d). Shame the pictures are a bit pony though (sorry).

It's such a shame to get rid but I can see why.

TBH I went from fun to boring and exec spec, then went for a bit of both, I bet you'll do the same.

  Turbos.
Don't cars cost more than houses up there? Can lend you a fiver if you like...

Valid point about not being wed to cars. As long as you're at the bottom of the depreciation curve, then you can chop and change as much as you like.

They look nice but i dont get the major hype. They couldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding as standard either. I guess its one of them you either get or you dont.

Care to elaborate? Or will I never want to meet you if you do?

You were there, your Z4 was there, your Mrs. was there, but she looked nowt like your current Mrs. It was weird, then some guy was watching my house at night, so I ran outside bollock naked and threw a pint glass at him. Then I woke up.

It's far from a bad car mate. It might not be the last word in handling or steering feel but then people are happy with ep3's... It wouldn't be far behind a Clio cross country.

The TT driver will be having a pleasant conversation with his lovely partner and the Clio owner will be having much more fun whilst the car will be screaming it's head off as the 3 yoofs egg him. Exaggeration yes. Point stands though.

Remember why you got rid of your Clio?

It's a bargain for what it is mate, maybe a tad higher miles but the spec I want actually makes it the most reliable Mk1 TT.

The Frp or the TT?
