Freak hail storm ruins my 172

Hi Martin... Agreed... I drove it back to work and everyone was talking about there cars being damaged then it clicked. Was proper distraught! Iv got the same... I saw loads more tonight in different light. Is it possible to let us know how much it's gonna cost? I gotta arrange an estimate over the weekend.

Those hailstones were incredible. My parents saw a similar storm in France once, the hailstones were so big they smashed roof tiles!

Gutted for everyone whose cars have been damaged. The weather this 'summer' has been full on. Some drought.

Yeah, no probs, am gonna get quotes from main dealer & also dent specialist to see what the difference is. Would prefer the dent specialist as they know what they are on about, dealer bodyshop will just fill & spray

A Bentley dealer in Leicester had 21 cars on the forecourt today and they all got this kinda damage! My dads company is repairing them all, can't imagine seeing that happen to my car or being sat in the dealer watching a load of pricey cars be ruined lol

Up in Newcastle we have a month's worth of rain in 3 hours.

A 50 minute journey home at 4pm, turned out to take me 8 hours to do.

Flash flooding every where, then it hailed stoned and then rained some more.

Im sure I read in the news yesterday that all those with Fully comp insurance will be covered for this.

Iv heard that too. But you obviously lose your no claims. Even those with protected no claims could lose theirs! Also heard from people at work who have rang up that they are writing them off, too much damage! Crazy stuff. Gonna get a new bonnet, resprayed and then let a dent person have a go at the roof. It was mint before yesterday... now it looks awful. Still gutted lol

Protected no claims means you won't lose how ever many years of no claims bonus you've built up, but that doesn't stop your premium going up when you make a claim.

In other words, its ball locks.
