Timing belt changed too early?

Car  Clio sport 182
I'm quite new to this site so I hope someone can help me, I have just bought an 8 year old Clio sport 182 with 15k miles, it has full service history and whilst looking through it, I could see the timing belt was changed at 10k miles, I thought this was strange because the receipt showed £550 total for the whole change, can anyone advise me on why this woman would of changed the timing belt so early?

thankyou

They're made of rubber which perishes which is why you change them based on age OR mileage.

It's more important to change them due to age as they perish due to heat cycles making them brittle. My clio 182 had 54k on the clock and was changed once before.

15k on a 8 year old.........christ!

Just found out my 80k hasnt had any belt change:eek:. Needless to say its off the road til they get done!

15k? Ho-ree-sheet.
And the fact a woman thought to do it, by age not mileage even!
Beggars belief.

as in be suspicious ;)

£550 sounds about right though cos you should have the VVT pulley and tensioners done at the same time.
