Right. I know what it is what it dose and was wondering peopls opinions on spraying alloys with it basicaly should i do it lol is it worth it should i just bite the bullit and go for theProper respray (an stopbeing tight lol

It's really good stuff, I just have a few pointers

Tins are cheap right now, it's all matt finish but you can add a gloss coat (or 4). Take your wheels off to spray them, it's a good 3 hours work if you wait for each layer to dry properly. Seriously consider 1 can per wheel, the thicker you put it on the easier it is to peel off and it'll look better too! You can get 4 good coats of dip from a can.

I sprayed my alloys matt black on another car last year, didn't put it on thick enough and removal was really tough in places. Looked great though, lasted about 9 months through the winter etc. No complaints whatsoever, it clung well and didn't fade or anything.

I'm still considering plasti dipping my entire exterior. Get bored? Peel it off!

What would it cost to do a complete car? Clio for instance?

Not sure, maybe £300 to £500? If you were to add up the cost of the materials:

10L of dip for about £140
Spray gun (you get what you pay for! Or just use a mates..)

Realistically it's pretty cheap - probably about £160-£200 once you've bought other bits and pieces and given the car a detailed clean, just add on the labour costs if you chose to get someone else to do it. A clean environment is preffered, but you can do it on your driveway if you like.

Me? I'd prefer a vinyl wrap! Could even wrap it myself which is a plus ;D

I'm only guessing at what someone would charge as labour. It'll depend where you go.

If I were to do it? Ideal situation is a day's uninterrupted work at my imaginary empty unit with a decent spray gun and steady hand. £250 day rate minimum? Gotta cover those imaginary overheads!

BARWY would you recomend aerosol cans or buy the tub and get a gun?

Considering you can get a proper wheel refurb for as cheap as £20/wheel, can't really see the benefit in this stuff anymore!

Marty, buy a can of the stuff and get spraying. It's pretty forgiving, it can cover up slight curbing on alloys to a certain extent too. You would only buy the bigger stuff and use a spray gun for more elaborate projects
