Subframe swap

How much work is it swapping a subframe over on a 172?

I'll be taking the hubs and struts off soon so I thought whilst the suspension is off it might not be much more work taking the subframe off.

I'd like to know too. I'm going to be doing a conversion so I'd need to do this wouldn't I?

Its not hard but its tricky.

Basically there's a few different ways depending on what you're trying to achieve. I did one on Saturday and left the steering rack in place.

For extra camber and wider track. Without camber bolts or spacers. Might still need the bolts though.

You planning on putting the 172 cup subframe on instead?

Have a look in the guides section for fitting a 182 manifold, it pretty much tells you how to.
