  Clio mk3
Just installed a new cone air filter to my mk3 1.2 clio,it was all working fine but after about 10miles i noticed the engine management light came on and also the spanner and it displayed 'check emission'. there seemed to be no loss in power and felt as if it normally felt. there was a pipe going to the stock air filter that is currently not plugged in,and thought it was just for sucking the air in.. im new to all this and want to get to the problem asap.
thanks.
some pictures of the set up and dash.

How are you getting airflow to the filter? I'm not familiar with MK3 engine bays

The standard filter was a box and then there was a pipe going from the front grill to the box and then the other pipe that's to the left of the new filter plugged in to

I would fit the old filter back on and see if the problem goes then at least you know its definitely the air filter causing the problem.

If the engines getting more air it could be causing the mass air flow meter to get in-accurate readings hence the engine management light.
