It was a eurocarparts facet one as it died totally on my way into work one day and I needed to get it fixed to get myself home. I ll get a genuine one ordered on Monday.
It already had the correct blue plug on the crank sensor so was just plug and play. Wasn't massively expensive so I'm happy to try another one on there
I have a 02 plate 172, if I sit in traffic for 15 - 20 mins on my way to work the engine will sometimes just cut out dead and has done it a few times recently while just driving along. Tachometer drops to nothing even if the cars traveling at speed in gear then It will not re start for 10 - 15...
Developed a massive miss fire so I did a compression test and had lost a cylinder. Will rebuild it eventually with a T3 bolted on for good measure but it was just quicker to fire in a 36000 mile engine in for now. Deffinatly alot quicker with the new lump!!!

Shes just had a new engine, cambelt, aux belt, front and rear disks :( While doing that though also found broken rear spring and leaking rear shocks so it will be getting new dampers and springs all round...

Fred is right on this one!! we run our Seat Supacopa race cars with massive differences between platform hights left to right. All varies on the driver and which type of gerbox the car is fitted with. Far easier to explain with a car sitting infront of you on a set of scales though!!!!!
No I havent mate. I figured the valve would be blocking that in a default setting. I will block it tommorrow and see if that cures it untill the replacement cold air pipe arrives
