I put a de-cat and exhaust on mine. The difference in power and feel was only slight, but the noise is almost unbearable. Sometimes it makes me chuckle, sometimes cringe in embarassment! Getting a bit old for such a "barry" motor.
Mines noticabily quicker with the de-cat on but ive lost a little top end. If you do get one i recommend that you upgrade you stereo. Youll need it to mask out the droning on long journeys
Just a random thought but how much does this cost these days?
My clio has so many little chips and scratches that I can be arsed to polish it. Its depressing. It looks alright from a distance but when you get up close it looks worse than when it was dirty.
So I reckon a full respray would...
Anyway, a young chap with an Elise turned up after me and his read at 88 @ the wheels. Using Eddes calculations that works out at 106.8. Surely the road must be reading a bit low then?
Simon (the geeza doing the rolling road thing) said that you lose about 30% on the transmission on the road. So he seemed to think that it would be around the 120bhp mark. I just wanted a more accurate figure
Thats the thing. I dont want to change the engine. Its run pretty sweet, just not quick enough.
Can you not get conversions that change the bottom end or soemthing like that?
Often on this discussion forum I read about valvers with 2.0 litre conversions.
My Clio is an 1.8 8v. Is there anyone on here who has had a 2.0 litre (8v) conversion done to their RSi?
