Oh, and to answer your question about the box: The ones that raise the pressure in the common rail system seems to give a bit more bhp. But, if you are installing an IC, a chip would probably give better and more precise gain - all things being equal..

I got a lowered Expression and can only say, that if I had the opportunity and available funds, I would go for a new set of dampers as well. In my opinion they cant really cope in a heavy used-to-be comfortable diesel.

Im getting a box from FGA Motorsport soon - cant wait to get it installed!
Concerning bhp gains it varies a bit. Usually a chip gives the most in terms of top end bhp, but what should be taken into account is also that the "chippers" usually do the measurements themselves. And they are not...
More fuel doesnt necessarily equal more power. Its the amount of air in the cylinder ("the number of air molecules") that decides how much fuel you can burn up -> how much power you get. A gain can be made of simply adding more fuel, but the best way is - all things being equal - to...
I thought about the stronger springs too; the salesman told me that they were lowered ones originally made for the 1,4 (MTV). Maybe I should get some real ones -I guess they can and will cause premature wear on the dampers (and maybe more) as well..
Thanks for the link.:-)

My mums got an RSI (at least for another week or so). Nice torquey engine, not very reliable car - or maybe Im just being annoyed by the tiny niggles and faults that she has to pay Renault £70 an hour to fix.
But , if I were in the market I would definately go for the valver its much more of a...
As Ive read about before, Im not quite satisfied with the way my car handles. It bounces around on its lowered springs and doesnt feel sporty, just harsh and bouncy.
So, my question is: Who produces a proper set of springs and dampers for the dci 80bhp? And who sells them at decent prices...
Yup, but the standard one is not restrictive, nor is the standard air filter / box. KN etc. might have better air passage, but they alsom have better particle passage, making for a "dirty" engine if youre unlucky. Truth is, only real heavy mods can guarantee you improved performance, the rest is...
Be aware!! Because it is so easy to chip a modern turbo diesel lots of people do a very bad job. Preferably go for one that uses a rolling road in the process, making a tailor made chip for the specific car.
Or, if you want to keep the warranty, use a box instead. Some boxes actually give...
"The sole job of an intercooler is to condense air.... NOT to keep the engine cool... You use radiators and oil coolers to keep the engine cool!"
As far as Im concerned, the IC will lower the temperature of the intake air, lower the temperature of the engine oil and the temperature in the...
Before you consider chipping your 65bhp diesel, think about why Renault uses an intercooler on the 80bhp version. Probably in order to prevent the engine/turbo from overheating (apart from giving cooler air, of course..). The Pug 206 HDI doesnt really like being chipped without having an...
