    Are Clio Windscreens Particulary Weak?

Sure when I had mine done about 4 months ago my excess was up to 60 squid. Might be wrong though...! Had to get screen replaced twice in 3 yrs / 49k miles in my 182 btw. Agree that it seemed to get hit much more often than other cars I've owned, and I'm definitely not a tailgating pr*ck!

budget...whats 197's tax this year and next..

So's my CTR. First time I've questioned my decision to PX the 182 for it... F*cking stupid Labour government.

    Clio on watch dog tonight?

Problem is that Renault didn't do any kind of re-call. Just denied it was happening at all for several months, and then eventually sent a bit of paper through the post for you to put in your service manual to remind their mechanics to check it. Hardly fills you with confidence...!

    Slow clio, fast CTR.

Sorry - just a general observation rather than a comment on this specific thread. And don't get me wrong - I only just got rid of my 182 that I had for almost 3 years, and loved it, but it's always amused me a bit about the forum!

    Slow clio, fast CTR.

Awesome thread! Hilarious that a lot of people on here will swear blind their Cup is significantly faster than the standard 1*2, with on paper 0.2s 0-60 difference. But any other car that's 0.2s faster on paper than the Cup... Holy sh*t! "All about the driver" "They're only good in a...

    Test drove a 182 today

Have to say that, with hindsight, I was too gentle running my 182 in from new and never really got the full performance that I know I got on a test drive of a used one. Sold it with about 49k on the clock, and while it was fun, on several occasions came up short just on motorway sliproads and...

    my first drive (182)

Keep the CTR. More reliable, more practical (you'll struggle to fit more than 1 suitcase in the boot of a Clio), more desirable. I bought my 182 after test driving both that and the CTR and personally felt that performance was on a par, and so couldn't really justify spending the extra on the...

'Loosening up' vs 'over the hill'

Guess I had times even recently where I got in the 182 after work (often cold outside which obviously helps) and thought it was feeling REALLY lively...! Cheers MarkCup - guess I'm definitely a mental! Be really interested to see the results of your next rolling road! CTR is the training...

'Loosening up' vs 'over the hill'

Good point...! Entirely likely that, due to newness and fatness, my CTR's slower 0-5000ish rpm. Still loads of fun though! So to summarise, I'm a tool! Anyone had Clio / anything rolling road tested a few times over a long period (without mods)? Still interested to know at what point over a...

'Loosening up' vs 'over the hill'

Was just wondering people's opinions on when 172/182/197's stop 'loosening up' and performance actually starts to decrease due to age / mileage. Reason I ask is that I've just bought a brand new CTR and got 800 miles on the clock, but already feels MUCH faster than my 05 182 I PX'd (had both...

    overpriced?

I'm pretty sure that someone who seems genuinely surprised that a baby's suddenly appeared could probably be talked into swapping his car for a handful of magic beans...

R27 wins Trackday car of the Year.....

Having just PX'd my 182 for a CTR, I'm pleasantly surprised the CTR came in pretty well! Ok, so well behind the R27, but I bought the CTR cos I liked it a lot more than the Astra VXR and Focus ST on test drives. Still thought the Astra at least would be quicker on the track though!

    Price please :)

I've just PX'd my 182 (black gold, both cup packs, 05 reg, 49k miles) for a new CTR - Honda dealer came in at 5,250 but managed to get him up to 6 grand. Possibly a bit under the odds, but I LOVED the CTR! 182 was in pretty good nick, although a couple of kerbed alloys (oops) and both fog lights...

    Black 182 - M3 towards M25 tonight - RS05 ***

'Work'? Have no idea what your company do or is called - just always notice your car when I'm passing! By the way, was your car covered with hundreds of little fly things this evening, or was that just in our car park?

    Black 182 - M3 towards M25 tonight - RS05 ***

Dolphin House - the big ugly grey one on the other side of the road right next to the M3. What a beautiful location!
