@Nafoff looks badass :) so close to over the line now as well, coming to Donington, evening session, August 2020 ;-)

Cheers man, I doubt it as there is a lot going on here and I may struggle to get it on the road by then, but I will surely consider it.... it does need a shakedown.
This is as good a thread as any to ask I think...

Should I paint the front window edging?
I am talking about the lip around the drivers/passenger windows. Normally this would be a black rubber seal, but as the doors are polycarb it is part of the molding,
I have edging painted on the window to match the rears, but can't decide whether to paint the door edging too.

it would be a bit of a risk with regards to masking/painting, and am not sure if it is worth it/ will improve the look in anyway

i'd say if the polycarbs didn't have edging already then yes, but as it stands I think if you painted the 'fake seal' it would be too much black

I'd just do the bottom part so it blends into the bottom of the wing mirror. Black leccy tape it up and stand back/decide :)

And as silly as it sounds I KNOW this will work - you need to paint a black 'fake' third brake light in the spoiler cus it looks proper wierd to me!

Again leccy tape - boom! ;)

Yeah, so I think we're all going to need more photos/info on this.

That colour looks stunning on the rounder Phs1 front end from that pic

Much appreciated :D very much a work in progress atm so don't have too many pretty pictures of it, but I can't wait to shoot it when it's back on the roads!

I do have a build thread if anyone's interested just click the Renault Clio 172 Ph1 text under my name & it should link you to the page :)
I've not been on the forum too long so it's not pages & pages - if you're interested in any backdated updates (I've owned the car since 2017) then I have a build Instagram @M444DRT that I update more frequently (y)

Thats what I am kind of thinking... I am wondering if it would be too much.

Didn't think about using electrical tape to visualise it. The rear spoiler doesn't bother me so much - I may look at sorting this in the future, but its not top of the list currently

It's time to ruin my life again with another Ph1 172. Does anyone know of any or have one they are parting with? I know my budget will not stretch to a really really good condition one but open to options.
There is one on eBay atm that could be worth a look. Does mention surface rust but doesn't explain more or any pictures. This one would need a little bit of TLC which I would be happy with doing as I won't be needing it to use straight away as it can be a little project to get up and running for when my M140i goes back.

Spin out to collect some turbo bits from mate of mine, had a nosey around his very very nice mk1 1.8 16V which left me incredibly jealous and thinking about selling everything up to buy it... . then fell back in love with the oddy once more once removed the those rose tinted glasses!

Rose tinted glasses?
Your oddy is nice but we both know that in reality MK1's are so much better/nicer

Can't wait for my Ph1 to be in a state to post in here again.
Do like your steering wheel @Coops Mk1 trying to get ideas for mine when I get around to that job. Tempted with a deep dish OMP one but part of me still wants to keep the original one and get it retrimmed (I'll have to keep it anyway for MoT tests but I won't retrim it)
And I like the turbines, I was on the look out for some but F1's came up local for a good price I couldn't ignore.
