Not had many issues to be fair, seems fine up north. Almost on par with my work iphone on ee.
Strange how people find it ok, I’ve had it on 3 different phones around the midlands and just never works, calls and texts are fine, but data is hopeless. Only place it works is Stoke on Trent lol. And I avoid there at all costs 🤣

Anyone here with giff gaff? I believe they use O2 network. I've had enough of Three having useless internet even when it says I have 4G it's like being back on dial up or worse sometimes.

Hoping Giff gaff doesn't have these issues.

Yep, as above. Made them terminate my contract free of charge because I never got signal in the middle of a city even when it said I had 5G. Now with iD mobile and no issues at all, and cheaper.

I'll look at there deals too then. Seems like a common issue these days. It used to be if it said you had 4/5g the internet was always lightning quick.

I’ve been on giff gaff for like ten years.

Good things - It is cheap, they provide vat receipts for business

Bad things - speeds on 5g /4g are pretty povo. But i accept it because it is so pikey cheap. Also travelling abroad - i have found roaming in france is fine but when i get to Germany data basically stops working as it won’t do 4g or 5g. So when i go to europe i always just get an esim for proper data use.

I echo all of the above 02 doesn’t work anywhere apart from Stoke on Trent from my experience.

I have a dual sim iPhone 13pro

Here are my speed results in Manchester with full 5G. This isn’t a one off either

Have a look at 1p mobile, they use EE, £10 for 25gb, not the cheapest but at least you can actually use the data.

I use anywhere between 100-200gb a month so unfortunately that wouldn't be enough. Judging by comments I might just be better sticking with three and suck it up.

They do other contracts, just that one does me.

Has EU roaming too.

If you want decent coverage and speeds you pretty much have to be on EE’s network, they basically have a monopoly at this point.

Looks good may have to give that a try seen as it's not a contract anyway. Did just check and it says outdoor coverage only at my workplace still probably worth a shot though.
If you do get it, let me send you a referral link, cheeky £5 credit each 🤣

My Vodafone contract is up and the daughter needs a new phone, is there a good comparison website to get the best deal?

Ideally want a 24 month contract, iPhone 11 or better and less than £50 a month, don't really use alot of data at all. Don't like speaking to people and only send the odd dick pic.

If I can get something like an xBox or VR headset for free even better.

where is the best place to look?

Is be inclined to buy a phone and do a £10 SIM only. If you can that is.
What does a phone cost nowadays?

Think she is rocking like a 7 at the moment so just something she can still update really.

Is it worth just going into one of these second hand high street places just for a phone or are they not alot cheaper than new?

Apologies, don't really bother with phones, Salesman dream, just normally let them call me when my contract runs out and say yeah whatever mate.

I've been with iD mobile now for about a year, never really had any issues with them either. I got them to match a deal on uswitch, 50GB of data for £8 a month on a rolling contract.

Even better they now support eSim, I've finally been able to ditch my shite Samsung work phone and dual sim my 15 Pro.

I think the novelty of a folding phone is wearing off slightly. I do love the size when it's folded because it's so compact in your pocket or when it's plugged into the car etc, but when it's sunny out, the screen isn't bright enough and it's annoying constantly opening and closing it. I'm glad I tried it, but when they can make a thin Z fold I think that would be better than the flip style. Im tempted to pay out my contract and get the S24 ultra. I don't usually like big phones, but it's the only one that has the Snapdragon processor in. I think they standard and plus models have Samsungs shite CPU.

It uses O2, so for from me I’d say no as O2 doesn’t work anywhere in the UK apart from Stoke.

EE is pants where i am, standing by window to make calls is not worth it.
Parents are on TM & seems fine even works seamlessly abroad with no additional costs unlike EE.
Daughter was with Sky M & had no data for 11 days in Spain, huge thread on Sky forum yet TM works fine both O2?

Only place I seem to struggle with reception is at home, Which is ironic as I'm not working from home

Amazes me how people have such different experiences, I swear by EE, not used another network that comes close. Had 4 different phones with 4 different numbers across family members on O2, might aswell not have a phone they’re that bad.
