Next due to water restriction in Auckland NZ ( Yes its 278 days a year and we have water restriction on the rainy season), Y decide to take the car off the road to star to tidy up the interior first.
So first remove seat, dash, door trims and pedals!

Hi, for the Bolster I just clean it very well with isopropyl alcohol, thenI glue a piece of fabric on the back of the lether just to make it stronger.
then I apply some liquid leather from colourlock:
1597887726970.png

let it dry with the help of the heat gun.

and after that a couple o coats of the DYE leather toner number F039, Unfortunately in NZ i couldn't get the right colour like in the UK.

So I have to use the F039 that is close but not perfect.
1597887932192.png

Plus A lot of patience and try not to rush it and help it dry with the Heat gun.
the only cons is that you loose the grain of the leather. and I have not idea how long is going to last.

Hopefully this help you!

Cheers.

Great work! Think I'm gonna give that leather repair a go on a spare pair of seats I have

Quite a rarity in NZ, I go there alot and have only ever seen one Clio Sport.

That’s an amazing job you’ve done on those repairs!

This will be one to keep an eye on.

Where abouts in NZ are you? Great to see something different over there. The year I spent over, all I'd see were Japanese and Holden or Fords.

Thanks for the comments, and yes not many renaults on the roads here and only a bunck 172, but I allways want one, so this time I close the eyes and grab the onlyone that was for sale. Obviously is not my daily due to avalability of part and cost for european cars.
Hopefully in the next couple of wekks I can start to put the interior back together and start to see how to retrim the steering wheel.

Cheers

Unfortunately when trying to install everything the floor was all wet!

Some really nice updates there mate. Seats look amazing!!
love the effort on the steering wheel, if only bits were easy to get over there, could’ve got a cheap seat and used the Alcantara and leather off that for it, but amazing result anyway.

After so long with out any updates this is how stands today.

First was time to find the closes match to the silver wheels.

And start the prep, primer and Paint.

Thanks! And your odyssey thread was a good inspiration to make it look as best that I can.

Cheers.
Mine looks terrible now tbh, it's still solid but the paint is fucked, needs a full hit tbh

This one is not perfect neither, but a Full respray will have to wait for a couple of years.
But just don't let your Ph1 die and keep the good work to have it on the roads!
